4. Goodbye

After putting all of my new clothes away I lay in me bed.

"Finally home." I say.

Then I hear a knock on my door. Then Mark walks in.

    "Hey, can I talk to you?" Mark said.

   I nod and motion for him to sit on my bed.

  "Tomorrow can you sit with me at lunch?" He asked.

  "Why? Didn't you go to that school before?"

   He nods. "Yeah, I just want you to. So you can meet my friends."

   I'm surprised he has friends.

   "I didn't think you had friends." I say.

   He glares at me. "I do actually."

   I nod. "Ok, but me and Aeri are going to sit there." I say.

   "Thank you." He said walking out of the room.

Time skip~

  I walk downstairs to set the table for dinner and Mark is following behind me.

  "You don't have to set the table I will Nari." He said smiling.

"But mom told me to do it." I say crossing my arms.

"But a pretty girl like you shouldn't have to." He winks as runs past me.

I stand there dumbfounded. He really just called me a pretty girl.

I walk to the kitchen and Mark has already set the table. He smiles.

"Thank you?" I say.

"You're welcome!"

I roll my eyes and sit in my seat. Then my mom puts food on our plates and we all eat.

Time skip~

"Thank you mom!" I said.

"You're welcome sweetheart. So can you and Mark do the dishes?"

I nod and walk into the kitchen with Mark.

"Why'd you call me pretty?" I ask.

"Because it's the truth." He smiles.

I roll my eyes and do the dishes while Mark dries them.

After We're done I go to the living room. I sit next to my mom and dad.

"We have news!" My mom said.

"We are going to be gone for a few months!"

I look at them. "You can't leave me." I say sadly.

"It's not going to be that long...only two months..."

"W-What?! You're going to leave me here alone with Mark?!?!?"

"It's not that bad honey! Well call and text everyday!" My dad said.

I'm a loss for words. What do I say? I don't want them to leave me alone with him!

"O-Ok. When are you leaving?"

"Tonight." My dad said.

I look at them. "Really? Already?"

They nod. "Be good! Don't destroy the house! Love you!" They say walking out the door.

Now it's just me and Mark. "So what now?" Mark asked.
