Detention was not and is never fun for good kids. The first time he was given a detention slip he was too furious to be scared. He had said some not so pg-13 rated words to a teacher about three years ago.
The teacher had given him an F on his biology test. It was also the first time he and Rachel fought. This was not his second nor was it his third time in detention and he was sure this was not going to be his last time in detention.
He walked into the room with a smile on his face, apart from his friends before he became a player, these two were the ones who didn't treat him any different. They understood what he was going through because they all had their gray stories.
The three of them got along fine. They hardly talked to anyone but themselves in detention, so seeing them talk to Jade was shocking. He approached them with a slightly confused face.
"Hey guys, I see you've met her." He said as he kept his bag on the floor and his butt on the seat, he could have sworn he saw her roll her eyes.
"Yep, I met her in history class and introduced her to Carter in detention. She's pretty fun." Tori replied with a rare smile on her face, her dark blue hair was packed in a bun matching the black clothes she wore, Alexandre sometimes wonder how she survived during the summer.
"Have you guys met before?" Carter asked looking and pointing at the both of them curiously, unintentionally showing the bracelets he got from his mum after she died.
Dre sighed nodding his head as he reached for his phone in his bag and helped Carter adjust his long sleeves.
"So how did you guys meet?" Carter asked now stuffing his mouth with gummy bears.
"It's a long story," Jade replied trying to dodge the question while playing a game on her phone.
"We have all evening. It's not like we're asked to do anything here." Tori shrugged as she placed her fist under her chin.
"You know the dude I told you was assigned to be my tutor?" Jade asked as she started her story still playing her game, Tori and Carter nodded at her question, "well, he's the one. The end." She shrugged not looking away from her phone.
Tori and Carter turned to Dre, waiting for him to say his side of the story, "She's the girl from biology class, the new student." He said waiting for them to process the statement.
He had told Tori and Carter about the bet a few days back, they didn't support the plan fully but they didn't try to stop him when he insisted on winning it.
"Seriously?" Carter asked while Tori said, "oh Lord," with her palm on her forehead.
"What?" Jade asked pausing her game.
"Nothing." The three of them said at the same time making Jade's eyes question them. When she didn't get any get reaction from them, she ignored it and turned back to her game. Tori looked at him, her face full of disapproval while Carter avoided his gaze by concentrating on his gummy bears. Dre grunted and sank into his chair.
"So how long are we going to sit here?" Jade asked a few minutes after sitting in total silence.
"Till like 5..." Carter said looking at his wristwatch.
"No, I mean this..." She paused for a second looking at the three of them, "... I don't know, awkward air?"
"What did you do?" Dre asked seconds after no replies from his friends.
