Many of the werewolves who weren't under Finn's control and their children had returned to the Bayou, where they were collecting firewood and other necessities in preparation for the Unification Ceremony. Two young boys were throwing around a baseball, which accidentally dropped to the ground as one of them failed to catch it. As it rolled away, one of the boys chased after it where it landed right under the foot of Klaus who had just arrived with Thea by his side.

Klaus crouched down and smiled at the boy as he picked up the ball, but instead of handing it to him, the hybrid carries it with him as he and Thea walk to address the crowd. "I wonder if you lot can help us. We're looking for the wolf who calls herself your queen," the Lockwood teen addressed as the werewolves stared back at them in silence. "I prefer you tell us where she is before I grow irritated. After all," Klaus began as he tossed the ball back to the boy, "there are children present."

Thea raised her eyebrow expectantly as she looked out at the werewolves who all remained silent. Nearby, Hayley was near the lake at the edge of the woods where she was skipping rocks along the water when Jackson suddenly came up behind her to join her. "You scared me," Jackson stated causing Hayley to jump, startled before turning back to face him, "was worried you ran off in the middle of the night."

Hayley sighed, "no. I was just out here thinking," the Marshall woman commented as she threw another rock into the water and Jackson picked up a stone to throw as well. "Jack, I know I'm supposed to divulge my great secrets, but I can't. Can't even tell you why I can't," Hayley scoffed causing Jackson to frown. "I mean, you really think there's a secret you have that's so bad, you can't tell me?" the wolf questioned causing Hayley to sigh.

"It's not safe, Jack. The secret's not mine to tell," Hayley retorted causing Jackson to scoff. "When have we ever been safe, Hayley? Our people have been cursed, hunted, exiled, but you and me, this wedding, we can change all that," Jackson retorted, ignoring her last comment. "We can create a new pack, one with your ability to turn at will. So, we give each other our secrets. If we don't, then the transfer of power won't work, and we're back to where we were," the Alpha continued causing Hayley to bite her lip, anxiously as she was still hesitant.

Though the Marshall woman wanted to help her people – the secret she held wasn't hers to disclose. She knew for certain that if she went along with it that both Thea and Klaus would slaughter both her and Jackson for putting their children in danger. And yet, Hayley was still on the fence with her decision. Of course, she needed their permission first – but if she and Jackson went along with this marriage, it would mean the twins would be safe. That they could come home.
