At the Mikaelson compound, Klaus was stood on the balcony overlooking the courtyard holding a man in police uniform in a choke hold over the edge of the balcony. "The taxpayers of New Orleans deserve a skilled Chief of Police," the hybrid spoke as he held the squirming police chief over the banister of the balcony in one hand whilst he sipped on a cup of coffee with the other.

"How inept you are if not a single one of your men can locate the woman I seek," Klaus remarked darkly as the man squirmed, gasping for breath with a terrified look on his face. "We're tryin! She's a ghost!" the police chief pleaded in defence as Klaus continued to dangle him over the courtyard floor, a look of annoyance on his face.

Klaus sighed before taking a sip of his coffee, "Aurora de Martel is rather petite and may indeed be able to slip through the cracks like a wicked little cricket, but she is not a ghost," the hybrid stated before smirking devilishly, "not yet." The original then leaned forward so that he could look the police chief directly in the eye as a scowl contorted on his face, "I think this city's finest could try a little bit harder, hmm?"

Hearing footsteps approaching, Klaus turned to find Freya, Thea and Elijah walking towards him with matching looks of shock and exasperation. "I see we're in for another normal Mikaelson breakfast," Freya muttered sarcastically as Elijah rolled his eyes at the scene before them, giving his younger brother an incredulous look.

"Niklaus, for Heaven's sakes! Release the poor creature," Elijah ordered causing the police chief to whimper, shaking his head frantically at Klaus whose lips tugged up into the faintest of smirks. With a shrug, Klaus dropped the man, allowing him to fall onto the floor of the courtyard as Thea, Freya and Elijah all watched in exasperation. "Somehow, I don't think that's what he meant," Thea spoke up with a look of disbelief as Klaus turned back to face them with a smug smile.

Klaus shrugged, continuing to smirk as he walked past his siblings and wife into the upstairs living room, "he'll live! And he'll remember to do better," the hybrid retorted. Elijah, Freya and Thea rolled their eyes, sharing matching annoyed looks before following after the original as they continued their conversation. "Is all this torture necessary?" Freya asked in irritation causing Thea to scoff amusement.

"This is Nik we're talking about - are most things he does necessary?" the brunette remarked, earning an eye roll from Klaus as he took a seat on the couch, though he did not respond to either his wife or sister, instead calling out to someone in the hallway. "Where have you been?" Klaus called out, just as Marcel walked into the room, a look of irritation displayed clearly on his face as stopped beside Thea.
