Silence covers the empty bedroom like a weighted blanket as Alex stares at his phone screen.
Rian and Zack are in the bathroom with Jack now, but Alex is texting Brendon.

Why did you do this to me?

No response

Jack hates me now! He's afraid of me!

Nothing.

Brendon you ruined my life and just disappeared!
I told you I was in love with my roommate and now you're the reason I scare him!

Still nothing.

The lack of even knowing if Brendon saw the texts made Alex feel empty enough as it is, but just the fact that Alex is now completely alone for all eternity made it hurt that much more.

And now he's gone and cursed the man he's in love with to the same fate. On accident.

Brendon, please. I can't deal with this alone.

Alex stares blankly at the helpless text he sent. It's stupid. He's never acted like this before, but now suddenly he's begging for the man who ruined his life to come back. And for what? A quick fuck? A couple drinks? A gentle reminder that life doesn't have to go to shit just because Alex is basically immortal now?

The screen nearly goes dark, but Alex doesn't make any effort to keep his phone unlocked. It's pointless. Brendon won't respond and Rian and Zack won't convince Jack that Alex doesn't mean him any harm. Hell, Alex can't even convince himself of that.

The screen lights up with a text message, startling Alex out of his depressed daze.

Meet me at the bar in twenty ;)

Quick fuck it is.

*****

The place reeks of alcohol, and the blaring music is enough to give anyone a migraine. People are dancing all over the place, some half naked as they drink their night away.

What a waste of time, Alex thinks. I could be at home right now.

The sudden memory of how shitty home currently is flashes in Alex's mind. A quick fuck and a drink should clear Alex's thoughts. Or at least he hopes that'll be enough.

Brendon waves Alex over to the bar. He's wearing a white t-shirt and leather pants. Brendon's hair is perfectly styled as well. Alex might think he was hot if he didn't feel so gross about this.

Brendon smiles at Alex. "Let me order you a drink."
"Sure."

Alex takes a seat as Brendon calls over the bartender. He doesn't hear them speak, just the muffled voices of people shouting and singing. He can barely even hear the music. It's all too loud, and yet it all sounds too distant.

And then Alex realizes he's dissociating when a shot glass is placed in front of him. He looks at Brendon, confused.

"You look like you could use it," Brendon shouts over the music.
Alex shrugs and takes the shot. Then orders another from the bartender.
"That bad, huh? In that case, make it two," he says the last part to the bartender rather than Alex.

Alex barely hears him.

He's too busy wondering what Jack is doing. Probably puking up everything he's eaten and half his blood content.
If anything, Jack is planning an escape or begging Zack to find a cure.

Alex's friends won't want him around. He knows they'll side with Jack. They should. Alex fucked up, and there's nothing to be done about it.

His phone buzzes in his pocket and he pulls it out to see a text from Rian.
