It's been a few days since they arrived home. Zack and Rian has stayed the first night, but went home the next morning. Ryan and Brendon called for apologize for the events of before, but Alex and Jack are still a bit wary of Brendon.

Currently, Jack and Alex are out on a midnight walk. They can do that now that they can see in the dark. It's nice to just walk around in the woods and ignore civilization for a few hours.

They're on an almost picnic, but they killed a deer and are just sitting on some rocks by its corpse, looking up at the night sky.

They haven't talked much about the events of the last few weeks, nor have the really discussed their shared feelings. Today is the first time they really feel safe to do so.

"You know," Jack says, breaking the silence, "I kinda wished you told me you liked me back in high school." He laughs a little, bumping his shoulder against Alex's.
"You say that now, but in high school you were still using gay as an insult."
"Yeah..."

The silence turns awkward for a while until Jack speaks up again. "Why didn't you tell me before all this then?" Jack asks.
"You had a girlfriend."
"Yeah well, she dumped me when she found out I was bi."
"Bi, huh?" Alex echoes. "That makes sense."
Jack nods.

In the last few days, the two had discovered they can read each others minds. And Jack knew what Alex was thinking.

"I love you too," he whispers into Alex's ear, surprising the older man who turns into a blushing mess as he stumbles over his words.

But Alex's nervous stuttering comes to a stop when Jack kisses his cheek.

Then Alex starts to laugh. "This is so stupid," he says between giggles. "I've been wanting this for years, and now I'm making it awkward."
Jack laughs too this time. "I don't think you're awkward. I think you're adorable."
"Oh shut up! I love you."
Jack smiles. "Can I kiss you?"
Alex smiles too now. Then he nods.

Jack doesn't waste any time pressing their lips together. It's like a spark of electricity runs through him as their lips meet, something he's never felt with anyone else.
Their lips move in sync as time seems to stop. God, if only Alex had the guts to do this when he was a teen.

Jack hand's slide up Alex's shirt while Alex runs his fingers through Jack hair.

Slowly, the kiss becomes more passionate as Jack begins to trail kisses along Alex's jawline. The older man than climbs into Jack's lap, straddling him as Jack hooks his fingers through the belt loops on Alex's jeans. Then he starts to suck on the soft spot behind Alex's ear, relishing in the sounds Alex lets out as he does so.

It's like every moment of their lives has led to now, and they wouldn't change any of the past few weeks for a thing.
