I'm Not a Savior, I'm a Vampire (Jalex)

I hate this chapter but merry christmas

"Are you crying?"

The question pulls Jack out of his thoughts and back into the dark cell. Alex is looking at him with big, sad eyes and Jack isn't even sure how to respond.

Yeah, Jack is crying. But Alex witnessed something traumatic and that's all he cares to say?

"Yeah. Yeah, but I'm fine." Zack walks into the cell with the keys and unlocks the cuffs.
Marks around Alex's wrists will probably be enough reason to get Brendon arrested. Then again Brendon probably has his ways of avoiding the police.

The three of them make their way out of the cell, only to then realize just how lost they are. Jack had used magic or some shit to find Alex, but trying to get out would be nearly impossible.

"Holy shit," Alex exclaims. "We can do that?"
Jack and Zack exchange confused glances before turning to Alex. "Do what?" Jack asks slowly.
"Magic stuff! Like how you found me?"
Jack frowns. "Wait, how did you know about that?"

Now it's Alex's turn to be confused. "Didn't you say that just now?"
"No..."

The three of them go silent for a moment. But the silence is soon broken by footsteps coming down one of the crypt hallways.

"I see you've discovered you can read Jack's mind." They can practically hear Brendon's smirk as he emerges from the dark. "Interesting how fast your powers seem to be developing."

Alex steps in front of Jack protectively, only to then be pushed out of the way by Zack.

Brendon chuckles. "As if a human could stop me. Even fledglings like Jack and Alex here couldn't defeat me."

Smoke begins to rise between Brendon and Zack, causing even the elder vampire to back away. Jack and Alex unconsciously reach for each other's hand as fear grips at their lungs, rendering them both speechless as Ryan R. appears in the fading smoke.

"Maybe they can't," Ryan says, taking a step toward Brendon, "but I can."

The room goes silent as Brendon looks at the vampire before him. The only man he ever truly loved now stands before him, ready to fight.

"Ryan, I-"
"Alex, huh?" Ryan interrupts. "I'll admit he's got a nice ass, but personality wise I'm not so sure he's your type." Ryan's words spit venom as he speaks. Alex isn't sure if he should be offended or not. He knows the words are directed toward Brendon, but what's wrong with his personality?

Jack squeezes Alex's hand, pulling him out of his thoughts and reminding him of the battle in front of them.

"It was supposed to be a one time thing!" Brendon frantically explains. "B-but then... I was drunk and I bit him on accident because I thought he was you!"
Ryan scoffs. "Are you kidding me?"
"No.... I know it sounds stupid, but you both have that kinda emo fringe and-"
"Oh just stop!" Ryan crosses his arms as he steps toward the other vampire. "You're so full of shit."
"Ryan I- I love you! I never meant for any of this to happen-"
"So why turn him? Why hurt him? Kidnap him?"

"Why rape him?" Jack pipes in, shocking everyone in the room.
"What?" Brendon almost squeaks. "I-"
Ryan smacks Brendon upside the head. "You're such a fucking asshole!"

"I let him though," Alex explains. "I-I mean I didn't want it but-"
"It's not consensual if you didn't want to sleep with him," Jack explains.
"But I initiated-"
"And he wouldn't let you stop."

Ryan looks ready to tear Brendon into pieces. Zack is already trying to get a hold of Rian D. via text. Stupid shitty cell service. Zack knew he should've brought that wooden stake.

Brendon looks shocked and horrified. "I didn't mean- I... I'm so sorry!"
Alex doesn't speak, but Jack isn't finished with his accusations yet. "For what?" He asks. "Kidnapping him? Raping him? Turning him? What are all these weird cuts and bite marks?"
"Jack-" Alex tries to interrupt.
"I saw everything," Jack spits at Brendon. "You're such a piece of shit!"

The whole room looks lost now.

"You- you saw..." Brendon looks more shocked than confused. As does Ryan. "What did you see?" Brendon asks, seemingly more curious than accusatory. "Was it memories? Who's? Was it Alex's memories?"
Jack blinks for a second. The first ones weren't, but the rest were. He nods then.

Ryan turns to Brendon with wide eyes. "Did you..."
"No," Brendon almost whispers.

Zack seems vaguely uncomfortable considering he doesn't know what anyone is talking about. He's the only human in the crypt.
"What's going on?" He asks, trying to feel a little less like a wallflower.

"They never participated in a binding ceremony," Ryan explains. "The exchanging of memories shouldn't be possible. Mind reading is one thing but... this is different."

Alex looks at Jack in shock. "You... you saw my memories?"
Jack scratches the back of his neck uncomfortably. "I didn't mean to," he says. "I was trying to find you, and Zack said we had a sort of connection so-"

Alex kisses him before he can continue. Then he pulls away too fast. "I'm sorry!" He says quickly. "That was bad timing and I-"
This times it's Jack's turn to interrupt Alex with a kiss. It doesn't last long though as there's still a five way confused argument going on in the room.

Ryan grabs Brendon by the collar. "You're letting them go," Ryan states. Brendon simply nods, looking a bit shaken as he leads everyone out of the crypt.

The long walk is tense and quiet, save for the quiet whispering of Brendon and Ryan's conversation from ahead.

Jack doesn't catch much of it, but he's pretty sure they're going to stay together. Not that he cares. Right now he just want's Alex safe.

When they make it out, Ryan and Brendon lead them to the front gate. Zack asks to punch Brendon before he goes, and Ryan allows it, much to Brendon's dismay.

Zack socks him right in the jaw and then walks away without much else to say.
Jack and Alex follow along quickly. Rian D. Is waiting by the van.

His eyes go wide when he spots them, then he makes his way toward them. "What the hell happened?"

The three look between each other, not wanting to talk about it at the moment.
"I'll tell you later," Zack says simply, making his way to the passengers seat.

Ryan and Brendon stay at their castle, but Rian, Jack, Alex, and Zack all go back to Jack and Alex's place.
