Dust and spiders can be found all around the mostly empty room as Alex glares at the locked door. The only things in this room are the bed, Alex, and the dust and spiders.
He's considered trying to use the cheap necklace he's wearing as a screwdriver so he can try to pick the lock with a screw, but he already knows it won't work.
The only window's locked and too small to fit through anyway. Unless he could turn into a bat, like vampires in movies, but Alex isn't even sure that's a thing he can actually do.
That doesn't mean he hasn't tried though. He's actually been trying so hard that he now has a migraine. Still, no bat form.
Brendon hasn't stopped by yet, and Alex is already wondering what he meant by "tomorrow."
For vampires, would that mean tomorrow night or tomorrow morning/afternoon? Alex was thinking morning or afternoon, but he's pretty sure he's been awake for hours and hasn't even heard Brendon walking around the house.
That doesn't mean much though, it's a big house.
A spider tries to crawl up Alex's leg, but he squashes it before it can get very far. He cringes at the spider corpse and then looks at the window.
Maybe there's more to turning into a bat than just thinking about it, Alex thinks. In Star Wars, you have to relax to use the force. But how the fuck is Alex supposed to relax when he's been fucking kidnapped?
Sure, calming his nerves would help a lot of things, but right now he's more concerned as to if he will actually get out of here alive. Or at least as I've as a vampire can be.
Brendon's immortal, Alex reasons, or at least immortal enough to not age. And he's been dating Ryan as long as Alex has known the guy. Maybe Ryan's a vampire too? But then would Ryan have left him after everything Brendon did?
Alex shakes his head. This is too much thinking.
Maybe if he can just calm his nerves...
The lock in the door clicks and then the door swings open, revealing Brendon who's wearing a wide grin.
"Good morning, Alexander!" He announces as he enters, leaving the door open. Alex eyes it for a moment, but he knows Brendon is inhumanly strong and way fast.
"Don't call me that," Alex half mutters, trying to ignore his headache.
Brendon shrugs. But then moves to sit next to Alex, still not bothering to close the door.
"I was thinking," Brendon starts, "you're probably thirty and you probably don't want to be cooped up in this room all day."
Alex simply glares at him. His glance flicks to the door for a second, but he knows it would be stupid to make a be was for it. Brendon would catch him before he even made a move towards it.
Brendon smirks. "You know I can read your mind?"
Alex stares at him with a horrified expression as hundreds of questions dance through his head.
"You're right by the way, trying to escape through that door is pointless. And vampires can turn into bats. Don't bother trying to fly in the day though. It'll blind you."
Alex blinks, not really sure what to say at this point. He's also trying to blank out his thought process, so all he's thinking is "don't think."
Brendon seems amused by this as he stands up.
Brendon holds a hand out for Alex to take. "Let me show you around," he says. "It's my fault you're like this, I might as well show you the ropes."
Alex stares at the hand in front of him, unsure of what to do. He wants to leave, not know more about being a vampire. Hell, he'll keep drinking whatever fake blood shit Zack keeps giving him forever if he can. He would gladly live alone in some cheap house with Jack for all eternity.
