The next morning Peter tried calling Alyse's phone, only to have it go straight to voicemail. Damn it. Please don't tell me that Roman had a hissy fit and broke Alyse's phone so he could go and buy her a new one. Maybe I can try and get a hold of Letha. She might know what's going on with Roman and Alyse, Peter thought to himself as he dialed Letha's phone number.

Letha grabbed her keys getting ready to head out the house to meet Roman, Alyse and Peter at the ice cream parlor so they could decide what movie they were going to see today. As Letha was getting ready to walk out the door, her phone started ringing. Letha quickly pulled the phone out of her purse, checking the caller ID to see that it was Peter trying to get a hold of her. Letha pushed the green button before placing the phone to her ear. "Hello Peter."

"Letha, please tell me that Alyse is with you and that she forgot to charge her phone and that is why it's going straight to voicemail," Peter said frantically.

"No Alyse isn't with me Peter. I thought we were all going to meet up at the ice-cream parlor to discuss which movie we were all going to see together," Letha asked.

"We were supposed to and I was in the middle of discussing plans with Alyse, until she had her phone snatched away from her. Roman got on and said goodbye before hanging up on me. I've been trying to get a hold of her all morning, but I'm not getting an answer from her. You don't think that Roman is capable of raping Alyse a second time, do you," Peter asked.

Letha let out an annoyed sigh. "That was stupid on Roman's part to do that the first time. But I believe that he wouldn't go and make the same mistake again. He has feelings for her Peter. They're due to get married anyway. And let's not forget the fact that they were about to be come parents before Alyse had that miscarriage. Look Peter your obsession with Alyse needs to stop. She's taken and nothing is going to change the fact that she's going to become a Godfrey at the end of the school year."

"Letha don't you find it odd that Roman and Alyse are set to get married after graduation? Don't you think that they should at least wait until after they graduate from college to get married," Peter asked.

"Peter what Roman and Alyse do is seriously none of our business. If they want to get married after high school, then that is their choice. And if this is some attempt to stop Roman from marrying Alyse, just so you can win her back, you should get over it already. You don't stand a chance with her. Why don't you do yourself a favor and forget all about Alyse? She was never really free for you to be with when you first met her anyway. She should have known better than to go and string you along the way that she did," Letha snapped.

"Alyse didn't string me along. I knew about the arrangement and the fact that she had run away. I also knew that she was pregnant with another man's baby, but I was willing to raise it like it was my own," Peter snapped back.

Letha let out a frustrated sigh again. "I was the one who encouraged Alyse to leave. I thought that if she had a few weeks without Roman hounding her every move, that she would come to the realization, that he cares about her. I didn't anticipate that Alyse would meet another man and form a new relationship with him."

"Letha even if you hadn't encouraged Alyse to leave, I'm sure Roman would've drove her to leave anyway. But what I want to know is, why are you suddenly hell bent on Roman and Alyse getting married to one another," Peter asked.

"Because I like you. I figured with Alyse being married to Roman, you would give up on this fantasy of wanting to run off with Alyse and forming a happy family of Gypsies who could travel wherever they wanted," Letha said.
