Norman's pov

I was lead into a small cramped room filled with medical staff and machines.i followed behind the doctor as he pushed people out of the way. A few of their eyes widened when they saw me, but I didn't say a word. I was too focused. I froze when I finally saw the bed where kayla lay, except it didn't look like her. She was pale white and was breathing very heavily. They had oxygen on her and she was in tears. Somehow I found feeling in my legs again and ran to her side and grabbed her hands. She looked over and saw me, weakly smiling,

"Hey"

Her hands were freezing as I smiled lightly back at her,"hey"

She took a deep breath and whispered,"so daryl I appreciate you comin, but do you know when norman will get here?"

I chuckled as a tear ran down my cheek. Leave it to her to joke around in a time like this. I was about to respond to her when all of a sudden her eyes rolled in the back of her head. My heart started pounding with fear as I looked worriedly over to the doc. I focused back on her and started tapping her face,

"Hey kayla wake up" I turned back to the doctors,"hey she won't wake up!"

Dr. Arom and the others ran to our side,"shit! We gotta deliver now!"

"What's wrong with her!" I yelled worriedly.

The staff started getting in position as the doctor got ready and said,"she wouldn't deliver without you here even though it was killing her"

My eyes widened,"killing her?!"

He said nothing else and started doing what he could to deliver the baby. I starred back down at my fiancé. The sound of the machine that was beeping with the sound of her heart beat was music to my ears. She looked dead. Tears fell from my eyes. Why would she do that! I couldn't lose her! I ran my hands in her hair and for the first time in a while, I prayed. Suddenly she jolted awake and was screaming in pain. I held onto her tightly trying to calm her down.

"Norman!" She cried.

"Shh shh I'm right here" I held her while she struggled.

"It hurts" she cried.

My heart broke as she cried. I glared down at the doctor,"hurry up!"

"Norman!" She cried.

"Doc!" I yelled as she crashed her head into my chest.

"Almost done" dr arom said.

"Norman! Make it stop!" She cried.

"Now!" I yelled to the doctor.

Kayla's trembling started to die down and her trembling stopped. My heart sped up as I heard the small whimpering coming from a newborn baby. Kayla and I both looked towards the end of the bed and saw dr. Arom smiling holding a wailing newborn baby,

"Congrats. It's a girl"

My eyes never left the child as I felt kayla grip onto me tighter and cry into my chest. My eyes teared up as I stare at my newborn baby girl. She was beautiful. She was everything I expected her to be and more. My world couldn't have been more perfect at this moment. Willow was here and she was healthy. I was brought out of my thoughts when all of a sudden kayla went limp in my arms and the beeping sound of her heart monitor flatlined. My head snapped to the monitor seeing the straight line going across it. Kayla slipped from my arms and it is like my whole world ended.

"Kayla!" I yelled in fear.

The medical staff started immediately working on her as a nurse started pushing me out,

"Sir you have to leave"

I fought against her trying to see what they were doing,"no you crazy! I ain't leavin her! That's my wife! Let me go!"

My heart was pounding and tears of worry filled my eyes as I was forced into the hallway only hearing the noises of the doctors yelling and willow crying.
