The race to the warehouse was unbearable as Julieta tried not to crash her bike. Her hands gripped the bars too harshly for her liking, and her steering was out of control at this point, but her mind replayed the conversation she just had with her brother's best friend.
"Hey, I'm on my way to the house. Is Damián with you?"
"Julieta... I- He-"
"Spit it out Lucian. I don't have all day."
"Julieta. I- I- I found him like this... Shot... He- He's dead Julie."

As she pulled into the driveway she couldn't help but notice the tense atmosphere.

The bikes lined up in front of the building left her little room to park her own.

But carefully as she could, she squeezed her way through the bikes and parked. Throwing her leg over the bike, she sped her way into the building.

Men and women alike, they all stood outside the room where her brother's office sat, and as she neared she couldn't help but see the looks of somber wretched on their faces.

They moved out of the way as she went to open the door, each of them walking away from the office.

Inside stood Lucian, the Vice President of the MC, and her brother's best friend. He looked over at her quickly, walking toward her with his arms held out. "Juli-" She raised her hand, walking past him and to the sheet that covered her brother's body.

Gently, she raised the sheet from his head, searching the face that was once vibrant and full of happiness.
"How... Did this happen?" Lucian sat on the edge of his best friend's desk warily, not sure what to say.

"I think it was an assassin. One shot to the heart." Julieta closed her eyes tightly, wishing it could all just go away. The aching in her heart, the overwhelming feeling in her stomach. She let the cover fall over his face again, pressing her palm to his forehead.
"I love you, Damián." It was almost like she was waiting for him to wake up and say it was all one big joke, but he didn't.

She could almost hear the murmurs from outside the building. All unsure of what it is going to happen now.
Julieta knew deeply that things would change throughout the MC. For the best, she didn't know. But soon enough, Lucian spoke up.

"I know it's sudden Julie. But as President, I think it best that we come together to create a union." Julieta stood up abruptly, turning to face the man in front of her.
His arms sat crossed against his chest, ocean blue eyes staring into her own dull brown pair. "You what? My brother just died and you want to already become President?!"

The brown haired boy only stared back, not seeing the problem in his question. "It would be good for the club. Don't you think? The new king and his queen?" A scoff escaped her lips loudly, hand on her hip.
"I will never be your queen Lucian." In what felt like slow motion, Lucian was in front of her, hand pushing her back into the nearest wall.

"Now that Damián is gone, God rest his soul, we can finally be together Julieta. Isn't that what we always wanted?" Julieta shook her head, pushing him away from her. "Maybe when we were children. Not now. I've grown up, and I think it time you do too."
As she tried to pass him his hand grabbed her arm, pulling her back. "You're mine now Julieta. And your brother can't stop us now."

Without another thought she pulled out her gun from her waistband, pressing it to his forehead. "I'm not yours. Never have been, never will be. Don't make me shoot you Lucian. I'm leaving now."
In her heart, she knew he was going to make another move, so without blinking she let her finger pull the trigger.

As she grasped his shoulder in pain, Julieta ran out the room and to where hers was, where she grabbed her emergency weekend bag.

It was clear in her mind she wasn't safe here anymore. Especially as some of the brothers were starting to circle outside of her brother's office.

Her mind raced toward survival mode. Her heartbeat was quick against her chest, and making her way toward her bike she saw a group of her fellow brothers and sisters standing in her way.

One woman took a step forward, holding out her hand. Julieta quickly shrugged off her kutte and handed it toward her.

"Be careful Julieta. Just get across the border."

Hopping on her beloved bike, she raced off onto the road and toward the border mere hours away.

After was felt like years, she finally made it to the border where she saw a member of her ex MC. He nodded at her, eyes narrowed almost harshly.
"Miss Quesada. I've just gotten word to make an arrest on you."

My eyes looked up at him pleadingly, to which he motioned at the other guard that I could pass. "Señorita. Please remain safe." I nodded as I revved my engine and began traveling toward Santo Padre where she knows in her heart she'll have some sort of protection.

The ride from the border to the small town of Santo Padre was long and rough as the wind blew against her. But nothing was stopping her as she finally began to believe she would be okay.
Not now, of course, but later rather than sooner.

Slowly but surely she made it in front of a worn down house of the address she was given so long ago.
Turning off her bike, she slid the helmet from her head and placed it on the handle bar, sliding off the body of the bike itself. Walking toward the house she looked around the neighborhood, noticing the uncut yards around her, and the medium sized house becoming bigger by the second in her view.

With a shaky hand she rung the door bell.

No answer.

She didn't know what else to do besides the two options in her head.
A) Wait outside for him to come home.
Or B) Pick the lock on the door and wait inside.
She knew in her mind that option B would get her most definitely killed, but she also knew staying outside longer than needed would also get her killed.

So without a second thought, she pulled out the bobby pin from her hair and began to quickly pick the lock of the old wooden door.
Once the lock was picked she opened the door, scared she was about to get shot by her old friend, or his father.

Much to her luck, nobody was home, so she did what any person on the run would do, she decided to take a nap on their living room couch.
