"As doctors, patients are always telling us
how they'd do our jobs. Just stitch me
up, slap a band-aid on it and send me
home. It's easy to suggest a quick
solution, when you don't know much
about the problem or you don't
understand the underlying cause or
just how deep the wound is. The first
step toward a real cure is to know
exactly what the disease is to begin
with. But that's not what people want
to hear. We're supposed to forget the
past that led us here, ignore the future complications that might arise and go
for the quick fix. As doctors, as friends,
as human beings, we all try to do
the best we can. But the world is full
of unexpected twists and turns. And
just when you've gotten the lay of
the land, the ground underneath you
shifts. And knocks you off your feet. If
you're lucky, you'll end up with nothing
more than a flesh wound, something
a band-aid will cover. But, some
wounds are deeper than they first
appear and require more than just a
quick fix. With some wounds, you
have to rip off the band-aid, let them
breathe, and give them time to heal."

How was the life of Maira Grey going lately, you may be wondering?

Well, her sister slept with George O' Malley, Denny was back in the hospital with a failing heart, and—

Yes. Her sister, Meredith Grey, slept with George O' Malley, the man who's been in love with her since the beginning of intern year. Apparently there was a lot of crying and slamming doors and it did not go well.

Since then the group of friends had been somewhat divided. After news got around about the bad night Izzie immediately declared that if things didn't get resolved she was taking George's side.

Of course, Maira were on Meredith's side. Always. Honestly, as stupid of her as it was to sleep with him, Maira felt the blame was being unequally dispersed. George took part in the sex too, he is a consenting adult just like Meredith. They were both dumbasses and she could only hope they eventually worked it out.

That was really none of Maira's concern though. What was her current concern was the absolutely cutest baby she'd ever seen, being carried in a car seat by Dr. Bailey.

She was finally back to work, something Maira were ecstatic about. She became even more ecstatic when she met the interns for morning rounds with her adorable baby in tow. Maira was a sucker for kids and William George Bailey Jones, or Tuck as most people were calling him, was the cutest.

Bailey immediately ordered Meredith and George to cover the pit and Maira winced as the two took off, purposefully ignoring each other. She was so relieved she wasn't with them today.

Alex and Izzie were on Denny's case monitoring his ongoing congestive heart failure, leaving Maira and Cristina still standing with Bailey.

"Dr. Bailey?"
