Ch. 27 "Pain"

Tony POV

after getting Maisie to the tower in the lab,

"Lay her on the table quickly," Bruce said

I did as I was told,

"I need you to wait in the hall," Bruce said

"You can't be serious?" I said

"Please, don't worry I'll do all I can," Bruce said putting latex gloves on

"Come on," Steve said putting his hand on my shoulder

I nodded and paced back and forth in the hallway,

Kid had a plan all along, that's probably why she wouldn't tell us what she was afraid of she was trying to back up her claims she was gathering proof, I thought as I paced

Please be okay I thought,

"Tony, she's a tough kid she's gonna be fine," Natasha said

"Not to mention smarter than your average six year old," Clint said

I smirked,

Time Skip

were all in the main room waiting for anything, Pepper was with me I was drinking a little from my glass, it's been six hours,

then we hear footsteps, we see Bruce,

everyone stands up, I walk up to him,

"She's gonna be fine," He said smiling at us tiredly

Everyone including myself exhaled in relief,

Clint and Natasha hugged, Bucky and Steve high fived Pietro and Wanda also hugged Thor grabbed Peter giving him a rough pet on the head,

Me and pepper walk up to Bruce,

"We need to talk," Bruce said

I nodded we started walking to where Maisie now was resting,

"Tony, she's lucky," Bruce said

"What do you mean?" Pepper said

"She's got nine cracked ribs, broken arm, her wind pipe has been severely damaged, severe concussion, bruising on her kidney pancreas and liver, she lost a lot of blood she's gonna be feeling a little sluggish for a few days " Bruce said

"Not to mention all the bruising on her face stomach and back,She's lucky she didn't have any internal bleeding," Bruce said with sadden eyes

"Can we see her?" Pepper said

He nodded,

"Just keep it down she needs rest she needs to take it easy," Bruce said

We both nodded

we enter the room, Pepper gasps

Maisie has bandaging wrapped around her head cuts and bruising all over her face, Her right arm is in a cast, she was hooked up it an IV drip heart monitors hooked to her chest,

It pained me to see her like this, when she does wake up were gonna have a lot to talk about, I thought

Maisie POV

I'm in a forest the light peeking through the trees and leaves, I slowly walk and see a beautiful meadow,

and I see someone standing near a tree in a beautiful white dress, she's humming then she turns around,

"Mommy!" I run to her hugging her,

"Maisie, my beautiful little girl," She said

she was on her knees hugging me, petting my hair,

"Ive missed you so much," I said hugging her

"I know sweetie, but you shouldn't be here," She said

"What do you mean?" I asked looking up at her

"You're father needs you, it is too early for you to be here," She said

"But I wanna be here with you," I said

"I know sweetie, but you can't , just know that I'm so proud of you and I love you," Mommy said

"I love you too," I said

then everything got dark

Beep, Beep, Beep,

Whatever that dang noise is would someone shut it up! I thought,

My body hurt, everywhere,

Come on Maisie wake up! I thought trying to open my eyes, Come on,

my eyes flutter open, my vision was blurry at first but after blinking a few times it got clear,

I look around to see Pepper in the corner on a chair with a blanket draped over her with a pillow,

I see a mess of snacks and drinks near her,

I see bruce working at a desk in the other corner,

Typing on the computer his fingers going a mile a minute, he gets up and walks out with some paper work,

he must be very upset about something I've never seen that look on his face before and by the looks of it her hasn't slept in days I thought

I look down at my arm there is a IV in my arm and I have a bunch of wires hooked up to my chest,

even though I just woke up I still feel sleepy,

I hear the door open again, I see Tony walk in with two Coffees in his hands,

He sets one next to Pepper he takes a seat next to my bed setting his Coffee down after taking a sip, he was reading a magazine,

Now that I look at him he looks exhausted,

I try to move but the pain shoots through my entire body making all the monitors to go haywire, causing Tony to stand in a panic,

He makes eye contact with me,

"Maisie!" He said

I tried to talk but nothing came out and it was excruciating,

I looked at Tony in a panic,

"Hey, Hey easy it's okay you're windpipe is damaged it's only for a little while sweetie," He said

"But Bruce fixed you up and you'll be good as new with some rest okay," Dad said

I nodded

"Now we need to talk," He said handing me a pen and notepad
