Ch. 31 "Afraid"

                                                         Maisie POV

it's been a few days now, I'm back upstairs in my room, I'm still unable to talk, I can't sleep at night that woman is always plaguing my dreams, I'm for the very first time in a while afraid I don't want to admit it but I'm afraid to be alone at all, I thought as I was staring at the ceiling in my room, 

I look at the clock 2:30 AM 

might as well get up I thought, I took a shower, the bruising on my face and body is slowly fading 

I brush my teeth and hair changing my clothes and walk out of my room, 

it's dark even the dark scares me now, I thought 

Okay Mais baby steps no one is gonna hurt you, right? I mean come on you're in a smart tower with Jarvis a bunch of highly military grade weapons not even the army has, not to mention the band of heroes in the building, you're fine, 

I have my back against the wall I peek around the corner, Okay no one here come on Maisie stop being a baby, I thought 

                                                     Tony POV 

I'm currently in the lab since Pepper is upstairs with Maisie,

"Sir," Jarvis said 

"Yeah, Jarvis," I said tinkering with something for my suit, 

"It seems Maisie is up and about, and it seems her heart rate is above normal," Jarvis said 

"Alright, I'm on my way," 

                                          Maisie POV

what is that! I thought looking at a shadow in the corner of the room I turn on the light, okay it's just your imagination it was just the book case, I thought 

Over there whats that!? I thought 

Just the coat rack, 

Come on Mais pull yourself together I thought feeling tears well up in my eyes I don't want her coming back for me or Tony or anyone I don't want to know that fear again I thought I was shaking 

"Maisie?" I turn around to see Daddy 

I run to him holding on to him you see I just come hight wise just below his waist line, so I held onto him for dear life, 

"Maise, sweetie what's wrong?" daddy asked me 

"You're shaking," He said 

"Come on," Daddy said picking me up 

he took me back to my room tucking me in, 

"You need to get some rest," Daddy said 

He kissed me on the forehead and went to leave, But I grabbed him by the wrist, he looked at me shocked, I shook my head looking up at him 

"Maisie," He said 

I think he could feel me shaking, 

"Sigh, fine move over," He said laying next to me, 

                                            Tony POV

now I'm worried, I thought looking down at Maisie as she slept her head on my chest and her hand clung to my shirt, 

"Why don't you tell me anything?" I whispered petting her hair, 

"I know I wasn't here all the time, but now I am, I'm gonna take care of you for the rest of you're life that is a promise, you don't have to be afraid," I whispered
