"Mingi hurry up.." I shouted as my friend was upstairs in my bathroom getting ready for the night.

I sat on the couch flipping through pictures on my phone as I waited for what seemed like forever.

Suddenly there were loud thuds coming from the stairs, letting me know that he was finally coming down.

"How do I look?" He asked, spinning around for me.

"You look great Min" I smiled at him.
He returned the gesture

Mingi and I had been friends since we were little.
His family moved to Florida from South Korea when he was young.

He and his older brother attended my school, that's where and how we first met.

Tonight was a very special night.
It was Mingi's birthday, and we were going to celebrate.

Some of his friends were going to meet us at a club. But as for us, we were getting ready together.

He walked over and joined me on the couch.

"You're such an old man now"
I poked fun at him.
"The big twenty-two"

He sighed
"I know.. where have the years gone"

"I still remember when you first came here with your family.. you were so adorable"

"So what am I now?" He questioned me.

"Hmm.. slightly less adorable but.. I guess you're still alright"
I laughed.

He placed a hand on my shoulder, and pushed me over onto the couch.

"Let's go. The guys are probably already there"
He summoned me as he stood up, heading for the door.

I followed him and put on my shoes and jacket.

We finally made it to the club that we had decided on going to.
I wasn't big on clubs. But Mingi was.

He sort of turned into a wild boy.
His parents knew about some of his behaviors, but had given up on trying to keep a tight leash on him.

His older brother wasn't like him.
But he also had been in Korea longer than Mingi, and didn't fully grow up with the influences of Americans.

We entered the club, looking around for our friends. More so Mingi's friends.

He leaned in and spoke into my ear.
"Follow me, they're over there"
He had been on his phone, so I'm assuming he had texted them to find out where they were.

"Mingi! y/n, what's up!"
I heard Jason yell over the loud music.
He and Mingi did their 𝒃𝒓𝒐 𝒉𝒖𝒈, followed by the other guys.

"Glad you guys could make it out"
Mingi spoke with such happiness.

His friends names were Jason, Alex and Adam.

They all recruited Mingi to their circle of friends when we were juniors in high school.

I've felt pretty left out from him since then, but I never wanted him to know that.
I had a few distant friends, but no one that was as close to me as Mingi.

"Let's go get some drinks!
Jason suggested. Almost as if he was the ring leader.

The boys followed, leaving me behind to try and weave through the people.

I felt a hand grip onto my wrist, tugging me forward.

"Excuse me, my friend is trying to get through!"
Mingi yelled at the group of people who acted oblivious to my existence.

"Thank you" I breathed, as we had finally made it passed everyone.

He just chucked, and went up to the bar.

I scanned the room around me.
Wet spots on the floor from where people had spilled their drinks, others dancing on each other as if they were in that 𝐷𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑦 𝐷𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔 movie.

"Helloooo y/n"

I snapped out of my trance, seeing Mingi wave a hand in front of my face.

"Sorry, what?"
I asked.

"What would you like to drink baby"
He cooed at me.

This was why I hated being around him when he was with the guys.

Mingi and I were strictly friends, but when he got around them, he'd be all flirty toward me.
It was like he was trying to show off to them or something.

"Well I'm not your baby.. but I just want a water"

"A water?" He laughed. "C'mon it's my birthday y/n"

"And I want a water.." I insisted.

He rolled his eyes. "A water I guess"
Annoyance filled his voice as he slapped the money down on the counter.

If he was going to get trashed drunk like he always did, someone would have to be in charge of driving the two of us home. And I opted for me.
