You sat in complete awe as you looked at your precious child.

It didn't look quite like a baby yet, but you could see the resemblance to one.

The doctor had told you that October 1st was your due date.
It was definitely real to you now.

You looked over at Mingi who was staring at the monitor, wide eyed.

"You okay?"
You asked him.

He looked at you, his eyes welling up with tears.

"Yeah"
He said.

You couldn't tell if he was happy or not, nor did you have the time to.

The doctor started talking to you about the game plan for appointments.

Once a month at this point.

She handed you the copies of the ultrasound, as she continued to talk.

Mingi just sat frozen, almost as if this whole thing surprised him.

What did he expect to see?

Maybe he didn't actually believe you were pregnant?
You didn't even believe it all the way until you saw the baby.

Once the doctor was finished, she exited the room and allowed you to dress into your normal clothes.

"Min are you okay?"
You asked him, slipping on your shirt.

"Yeah"

His replies were so short.

"Talk to me"
You said, sitting next to him.

"Let's just go, it's been a long day"
He stood up, opening the door.

"You'd just be leaving work right now.. it's not any longer than any other day"

"Cool, lets go then"
He said.

"Why are you acting like this? Arent you excited?
You stayed where you were, confused by his actions.

"I'm stressed out"

"Why?"
You asked him.

"Can we go?"
He asked impatiently.

"Mingi"

"Oh my god"
He put his baseball cap back on and started to walk out of the room.

"I'll be in the car"
He called to you.

You weren't sure what he was stressed out about.

Was it the idea of being a dad at his age?
Was it stress that his parents were causing him?
Or was it the fact that Corbin was wedging himself into the picture again.

Either way, he was acting strange and you wanted to get to the bottom of it.

It was silent for a few minutes in the car.
You sat, mesmerized by the photos in your hands.

This was your baby. You created this human being.

For the next few months, you were going to experience something truly amazing.

The idea of another human growing inside of you was totally beyond your comprehension.

Of course you knew about pregnancy and how you're pregnant for roughly nine months.
Yet the fact that you were going to be navigating this out had you in complete awe.

"So.."
You broke the silence.

Mingi still didn't say anything, he only continued to drive.

"You're not going to talk to me?"
You asked him.

"What?"
He laughed.
"You're not saying anything worth me talking back"

You raised your brows at him.
"Excuse me?"

He stayed quiet once again.

"Mingi are you even happy about the baby"

"I'm not happy about this no.. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time"

His words blew you away.

All your anxiety was coming back now.

𝐼𝑓 ℎ𝑒'𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦, ℎ𝑒'𝑙𝑙 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑚𝑒

That's what kept replaying in your mind.

"If we were married, kids would be the next thing.."
You said.

"No they would not"
He spoke back.

"Yes they would Mingi"

"No the next thing would be spending time with each other. Maybe kids years down the road. I don't want this right now"

You could feel your blood starting to boil.

"Then what do you want? Unless you plan on being with someone else? If I'm your future then why is a baby such a big deal to you"

He laughed once more.
"Because I don't want a kid right now, simple.

He was confusing you even more.

When you found out that you were pregnant, he was way more supportive. He encouraged you.
He told you that everything would be okay.
Now, he was saying the complete opposite.

"What do you want me to do?"

"I don't know y/n"

"Do you want me to have an abortion?"

He looked at you in surprise.
"No! I would never ask you to do that"

"Then what??"
You asked, demanding an answer.

He laid a hand on yours, only to have you quickly pull it away.

"Y/n it's okay.. calm down"

Men should know not to tell a woman to calm down. It doesn't help the situation.

You were only a couple months along, but these pregnancy hormones were no joke.

They made everything that you felt inside even more intense.

"Don't touch me"

He clearly didn't know what to do.

"I'm not trying to be an ass.. do you realize how hard this is going to be on us y/n?"

"Can you drop me off at Emily's"
You said, disregarding his statement.

"What why?"

"Because I want to go to Emily's"

"I thought you-"

"Well I need someone to talk to.. she's my best friend. Who cares if she's upset at first"
You said, responding to his worry about your hidden pregnancy.

His jaw dropped.
"Your best friend is whoever you're not pissed at"

"That's not true"

"Okay, then why was it not that long ago that I was your bestie over her?"

You didn't respond to him.

Your anger was turning into sadness.
You just wanted to get away from him.

This is what you were afraid of. Moving in together and having fights.

This didn't really have anything to do with living together, but to you it was relative in this moment.

"Can you just bring me to her house please"

"How will you get home? You want me to pick you up later?"
He asked you.

"I don't know.. maybe she'll bring me home"

He sighed.
"Fine"
