Driving over to Mingi's house was quite the challenge.

It wasn't that your head hurt, but more around your eyes.
Overall it made seeing the road a bit difficult.

You pulled up to his place.
Instant memories of the times you two shared here came flooding back.
It wasn't an apartment apartment.

It was in a lot of with a bunch of other little buildings, but they were technically considered 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬.

He had moved here right after high school.
His parents wanted him to have some sort of independence, and not the kind he thought he had.

Real independence. Pay his own bills, buy his own food, those types of things.

You walked up to his front porch and knocked.

Yes he had a porch.
You would always tease him about it.

He opened the door, topless, his hair  wet.

"Hey come in, I just got out of the shower a few minutes ago"

"You waited until right before I came to shower?"
You questioned him while walking in.

"I was procrastinating today for sure"
He smiled at you.
"I'll be back in a minute. You can make yourself comfortable.

You did as he suggested and took a seat on one of his chairs in the living room.

He soon came back, fully dressed and his hair just slightly damp.

"It smells good in here"
You said.

"What does it smell like? I haven't been cooking since this morning"

"We should change that.."

He laughed at you.
"Are you hungry?"

You nodded and held your stomach.

"Well what would you like?"
He sat down on his couch and ran his fingers though his hair.

"Not to be cliché here but.. I'm really in the mood for noodles"

You couldn't help but laugh after you said it, causing him to join in.

"Maybe I'm that one Asian that cant make noodles y/n"

"Yeah but you've made them for me before.. so I know you can"
You winked.

"Ugh I guess. But you have to help me"

You slouched in the chair.
"Why??"

"I'm gonna teach you how"
He stood up and came over to you, holding out his hands.

"I'm lazy"
You whined

"Me too"

You looked at him, giving him wide eyes.

"C'mon"
He shook his hands slightly, bringing your attention to them.

You sighed in annoyance, took his hands stood up.

"Okay so I-"

"Mingi I'm just gonna watch you and pretend to pay attention..we both know that"

He stared at you.
"Then I won't cook for you"

"Ughh fine"
You gave in.

He got out a frying pan and a pot.

You watched as he proceeded to fetch the other things.
Putting water into the pot and setting it to boil on the stove.

"Sweet potato starch noodles?"
You asked, reading the label on a box he had out.

He nodded.
"Yes ma'am. The best"

"What are we making? I don't think you've made this one for me before"

"Japchae"
He spoke the Korean name.

"Okay"

He got out some beef and put it into a glass bowl.

He then separated the amounts of ingredients that he wanted you to mix in with it, while he put the noodles in the boiling water.

"So ten minutes"
He set the timer on the stove.

"What now?"
You asked after you had done what he had for you"

"I have some onions and carrots in the fridge, if you could chop them"

You went into the fridge and retrieved the items.

"Oh what the hell"
You cursed minutes later.

"What?"
He asked, turning to you.
"Ah the onions got ya?"

You rubbed your eyes with the back of your hand.

"I forgot about this.. I clearly don't cook much"
You winced through the stinging feeling.

"I should have told you it helps to do it by running water"
He spoke, taking over for you.

The meal was now finished.
You felt good about the little bit you were able to help him with.

"You ready to eat?"
He asked, grabbing two bowls.

"Born ready"
You stood by him as he dished you.

"You want anything to drink?"
He asked, setting his bowl on the table beside where you sat.

"I'll have water"

"You and your water"
He giggled.

He soon came back to the table with two tall glasses of water for you both.

As you were eating, a question kept coming to mind.
You were hesitant on asking him. For fear of sounding rude. Also you were anxious to know the answer.

"Have you quit drinking?"
You asked anyway.

He looked up at you, winding his noodles up around his fork.

"I haven't quit no.. I just don't do it often anymore"
He took a bite.

"That's good to hear though"

"Aww..you proud of me"
He gave you the cheesiest grin.

"I really am Min"
You smiled back, and began eating.
