~The Bombings Pt 1~
(Flashback)

You and James got separated from a strong force that pulled you two apart when an explosion went off.

20 minutes ago, James pulled you out of the bed and ever since then, you two have been running through the village amongst the villagers, dodging bullets and the fire as HYDRA dropped their bombs.

Everyone was screaming, everything shook and blood splattered your face as people near you blew to pieces.

You pushed yourself off the dirt and ran through the crowd.

"James?"

You panted to yourself as pushing through the screaming, terrified villagers.

"James?"

You went on.

"James!"

"James!"

You called called for him but he wasn't in sight.

Where did he go? What the hell? What's happening!?

You were so terrified, just like everyone else.
You felt so, so sorry for the villagers and their home.

It was so tragic. It was depressing.
Mothers held their babies in their arms, their children crying and scared, confused.
Fathers tried to find their families.
Innocent people died running for their lives.

This was all your fault.
You knew it. And it killed you inside that you remained alive and they didn't.

The village was burnt down, rubble filled the whole surface, thick smoke polluted the air and it smelt of blood and flesh.

But it wasn't over. HYDRA wasn't going to leave without covering ground, they wanted to know if the Claw died during the bombings.

Teams travelled through what was left of the village, armed and fully aware of their surroundings.

You kept hearing the squads walk past as you sat in a tight ball, in the corner of a building with two walls left.
You were so devastated that this had happened.

The HYDRA teams searched through corpses, trying to find a body with a metal arm and perhaps a smaller female body nearby.
They wouldn't succeed with finding you though.

You sat there, shocked, scared and deeply sad.
But you couldn't cradle yourself in a ball in the corner, you had to come back to reality and realise what is happening.

I can't stay here.
You lifted your head from between your knees, sniffed up the pain and let your last tear fall.

That pile of bricks. That's good cover. If I wait for this team to pass, I can hide there and slowly make my way outta here.

Keeping low, you snuck from the remains of the building and successfully hid yourself behind the pile of bricks that were torn away from another building.

It's ok, Y/N. Be brave. This isn't the end. This isn't how it's gonna end. Just keep moving. Be brave. Be brave. Be brave.......be brave like James.

You had to get out of this village and back into the wilderness where more cover is.
Where no one else is.

If it means to run for another four hours or even the next four days......Then so be it!

You tried not to breathe too loud.

A team's over there, maybe if I wait it out I could-

"Psssst!"

Interrupted you from your thoughts.
You turned to see James ducking behind a barrel, he's armed.

He's alive?.........Not surprised.

James gestured for you to come to him, all you had to do was slowly and carefully crawl down the brick pile.

But you quickly nodded your head. Wanting to stick to your comfortable plan and wait it all out.

'Get here'

He lipped to you with serious eyes.
But you refused. For you were afraid.

So with that, James clasped your arm and took you himself.
