Background:

Jace wasn't too similar to joules in how he grew up. It was just his mother as he grew up and she was an alcoholic so often Jace would come home from school and just drop everything to help her Get in the shower eat something and then get to bed. Because of this you could say that he raised himself. Even though he had a troubled house hold he was a star in school, always had been and his best subject? Science, much like joules he enjoyed biology but it wasn't his absolute favorite. He's a very quiet boy and always had been barely speaking unless he had to and wasn't one for people but he had his 3rd friends and he kept them pretty close. Much like The other two (joules and nia) he received a letter in the mail asking him to join the research team for Project Shadow. He was an emancipated so he signed for himself to join the project because biology perked his interest however he didn't know the fate that would be fall him. Thinking it would be fun he joined along with the two girls and joules around the same time during highschool in his sophomore year. He enjoyed the research finding the editing of genes allowing our bodies to do different things concept fascinating. He was the biggest asset in the team. Then the day came and he was the test subject. When he came to after the procedure he was confused and had a larger memory blank than most and didn't remember comming to the lab but after being remind that it was a day of research he remembered comming but not how long he had been there. He struggled the rest of the day but felt better after a night's rest. He still had yet to discover that they were the test subjects themselves and found out in the cruelest of ways when the people were brought in for them to test the combat and the new ability of becoming one with the shadow. Jace although a MMA fighter and brawler just felt like there was something wrong with the whole deal but kept quiet no matter how much it bugged him. By senior year Jace was a different person, he was still soft and caring for his person but he was hardened and tormented by the screams he often heard anymore. He didn't have many emotions left to show around others unless with his three friends. The project changed Jace. On the fateful day of lab being burned and indefinitely shut down he sustained many injured while trying to save his friends, himself and anyone else he thought was innocent. In their great escape he hit his head and was knocked unconscious, joules having to carry him on his back out the burning lab and to the hospital. From his injuries he ended up with amnesia for getting the events that he just went though and the other three didn't have the heart to explain so they let him forget as they thought it easier to deal with the memory fragments than it was the whole project. Now post project and recovery Jace isn't who the three remember him to be. He hardly ever speaks anymore. He doesn't talk unless he's with the three or feels comfortable, his eye lack familiarity and the warmth that he used to convey when his body language couldn't. Now and he goes about his life like the others he has become a well respected street brawler but that's just because people like to pick him out of a crow and cause trouble, really he's just a private investigator and a protector of sorts for people. His friends think that with time and with the right person just maybe the Jace they used to know can come back

Personality:

Jace was ready quiet pre project shadow but nothing compared to now. Before Jace while quiet and standoffish had a warm and comforting feeling about him, he just seemed scary. Now Jace just seems a bit like a walking corpse. He's almost always dead silent and analyzes everything around him. He's untrusting of people, distant and closed off and a shell of who he used to be.
