Part 28

"Grab that lantern Harry" I told him

We walked outside and looked around, hoping to find some spiders or to lead us to an answer hopefully. Suddenly I saw spiders crawling on the side of Hagrids house. There was so many.

"Harry! Let's follow them" I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the spiders

"Hermione they are heading towards the dark forest? What could possibly be in there?"  Harry asked me, I could tell he was hesitating

"We we're about to find out" I told him

It was a cold night so I had my arm wrapped around Harry's as we made our way through the dark forest. I don't like spiders and I definitely didn't like walking through here. I made sure not to step on any of the spiders as we walked over the tree stumps.

"Harry they are going in that cave. I don't want to go in that cave, it's dark. Why couldn't we have followed something less scary and preferably in the daylight?" I asked him

"Hermione this is for Hagrid. You can do this, I'm right here" He whispers before pulling me through the cave

We finally got out of the cave and we ended up in what looked like a giant spiders nest. There was spider webs everywhere. I held on to Harry more tightly and we continued following those blasted spiders. We approached what seemed like the biggest spider web of them all.

"Whose there?" I heard a voice ask

Inside I was trying not to panic, but then a giant spider started coming up from the ground. I hid my face in Harry's shoulder and he kept whispering at me to calm down.

"Hagrid?" He called out

"No. We are his friends. Are you Aragog?" I asked the spider taking my head out of Harry's shoulder

"Yes"

"Um... Aragog? Hagrid sent us. There has been attacks happening at the school. They think Hagrid opened the chamber of secrets like he did before" Harry explained to him

"That's nothing but a lie. He did not open the chamber" He said

"Then you're not the monster who did it. Who opened the chamber all those years ago?" I asked him

"I came to Hagrid from another land. The monster who opened the chamber....the one that killed that girl, we do not speak of it. A monster that we spiders fear over anything else" He explained

I looked around and I could see spiders crawling everywhere.

"Did you see this monster?" I asked Aragog

"No. I never saw anything. I was accused of killing her, so Hagrid brought me here to hide" He explained

I looked up and noticed spider were surrounding us. We needed to get out of here. I tugged on Harry and he saw all the spiders around us.

"Thank you for your help, but we need to go now" I told him, and we slowly walked backwards away from the giant spider

"Go? You're not leaving. My family won't kill Hagrid, but you....they haven't fed in a long time" We started to run but something stopped us

"Hermione grab on to me!" Harry yelled and he pulled something out of his pocket, it was his broom

I taught his a spell last week that would shrink down any object, that way he could carry things he needed more easily. His transformed his broom to it a regular size and we jumped on. I held on to his waist and he flew up trying to move past the spiders.

"Stupefy!" I yelled casting a few spells at spiders that got in our way

He finally made it up to the sky and away from the spiders. I caught my breath and looked down at all them

"Are you alright?" He asked me

"Yeah. Let's go back to the castle. I'm glad you remembered that spell I taught you. I knew it would come in handy sometime"

He flew us back to the quidditch pitch and landed us on the ground.

"So it wasn't Hagrid. That means he's innocent and some other person or creature killed that girl. We need to find out who" I told him

"Yeah...tomorrow. I have had enough for today. We need to rest and process the information" He told me shrinking his broom once again

I placed the cloak over us and we walked back to the castle. As we were walking past the portraits, I could hear a bunch of people talking.

"Harry come here" I told him wanting to follow the noise

We reached the second floor corridor only to see all the teachers standing around. Something must be wrong.

"Dumbledore and Hagrid gone, students petrified, and now this. This is not good and something needs to be done about this. A student has been taken by the monster to the chamber of secrets" Professor Mcgongall exclaimed

I looked at Harry and he didn't say anything.

"Sorry about my late arrival, I had to finish dusting my certificates. What did I miss?" Lockhart asked walking over to the group of teachers

"A student was taken to the chamber of secrets. Students need to be sent home" She explained

"Who was taken?" Madame Pomfrey asks

"Ginny Weasley"

I gasped and I felt Harry's hand cover my mouth. We slowly backed up further behind the wall hoping nobody heard me.

"Gilderoy, didn't you say you knew where the entrance to the chamber is? You can surely find it and take care of the monster" I heard Snape tell him

That bastard knows nothing. The teachers couldn't possibly let him be in charge.

"Of course. I will go to my office and get ready" He said running off

"Harry we must do something. We can't let Lockhart do anything, he probably doesn't even know where the entrance is. But I think I have an idea where" I told him

Over the last few days, I've been trying to figure out where the entrance could be. All I had to do was put everything we learned together. Ghosts tend to stay in the area that they died, that was how I figured everything out.

"Harry the girl who died all those years ago, it was myrtle. Remember what the book showed us, we saw the body come straight from that bathroom. The dead body of a young girl. It's no coincidence that we found that mysterious book in the bathroom. The only way she died was when someone opened the chamber of secrets"

"The chamber has to be in that bathroom! Hermione you're brilliant" Harry yelled and I felt his lips connect with mine for a short second

I stepped back and looked at him. He just kissed me on the lips! I didn't know what to say. We just had our first kiss. I could see him turn red and scratch the back on his neck.

"Um sorry...I got too excited" He said awkwardly

"That's fine. Um....maybe we should go find professor Lockhart and tell him what we know. He is going to try finding the entrance" I told him grabbing his hand

I didn't want to make things too awkward that we couldn't be around each other's. He looked at me and squeezed my slightly. It was probably just a spur of the moment thing.

I pulled his hand and we ran to find professor Lockhart. We were going to save Ginny and nothing was going to stop us.
