Part 30

"You two have broken a dozen school rules. I have much cause to expel you both....but in this case you two will receive special awards for your services instead. Not many children could face what you two did" Dumbledore says looking up from his desk

I looked over at Harry and he looked just as confused as I did. We are actually getting rewarded?

"Thanks headmaster"

"Harry if you wouldn't mind, but may I use Hedwig to deliver these letters? I'm sure we all want our beloved games keeper out of Azkaban" Dumbledore asked him

Harry called Hedwig who was sitting on the windowsill and she flew straight over. He immediately gave her the letters and she flew out the window.

"Now I want to thank you both. You both showed enormous strength and loyalty and you saved Ms. Weasley. I will send a letter to Molly immediately informing her of what happened"

"Sir I wanted to ask you something. I've been hearing about Tom Riddle and studying him recently, and I couldn't help but notice that we have many similarities. I just don't know what to think of it" Harry asked the headmaster

"Well Harry, you both speak parseltongue. The night he gave you that scar, he transferred some of his power to you" Dumbledore says walking back to his desk and sitting down

"Why would be do that to Harry? He tried to kill Harry as a baby and he wanted him dead now, no offense, but that couldn't have been intentional" I asked him

"Is that why the sorting hat wanted me to be in Slytherin, before i told the hat told me that I needed to be with Hermione, it told me that I would do well in Slytherin. Why wasn't I put there?" Harry asked him once again

"You asked to be with me, and not in Slytherin?" I asked him, I felt the slight blush appear on my cheeks

"You chose to be with Ms.Granger, so the hat placed you in gryffindor with her. You may process many of the same qualities as Voldemort, but you are different. It is not our abilities that show us who we are, but our choices" Harry then reached over and grabbed my hand

I then picked up the sword off of the headmasters desk and handed it to Harry.

Before Harry could respond a door opened up behind us.

"Well if it isn't Mr. Potter and Ms.Granger. My son told me all about you two" Lucius Malfoy said walking towards us

Suddenly a head popped out from behind him. It was Dobby, the house elf that warned Harry about coming back to school.

"Dobby? Is this your master?" I asked him, he looked so scared

"Move out of my way! So is it true? That giant in coming back to Hogwarts? How ridiculous!" He yelled

I wanted to say something to him, but Harry told me not to.

"Once the ministry learns about the girl and Tom, Hagrid will be released. A letter is already being sent as we speak. I am reinstated and so is Hagrid, so no matter what threats you made to make that happen, it doesn't matter. Now hopefully Lord Voldemort is gone and his followers won't be planning anything soon" Dumbledore said in a calm manner

"Yes. We hope" Lucius growled before turning back around

He then pushed Dobby on the ground and hit him with his cane.

"Harry James you better do something" I told him

He put the sword down and grabbed Tom Riddles book. He then ran out of the room. I looked at Dumbledore before running after him.

"Mr. Malfoy wait! I have something of yours" Harry yelled handing him the book

"This doesn't belong to me" He said angrily

"I'm not stupid Mr. Malfoy. I think everything that happened to Ginny was your fault. Fred and George told me they saw you in diagon alley before school started. You insulted their family and insulted Ginny. From everything I learned about you this year, it only makes sense. You placed the book in Ginny's bag so she could find it" Harry told him

It all made so much sense. How did I not put everything together? Without saying a word he turned around and handed the book to Dobby before walking off. I saw Dobby open the book and a sock fell out.

"Master has given Dobby a sock. Dobby is free!" He yelled before blasting Lucius to the ground before he quickly got up and dusted off his clothes

"Mark my words Potter this won't be the last time you see me. You should watch yourself, and you too mudblood" He whispered before walking out

Harry turned around and jumped in his arms and placed several kisses on his cheeks.

"Oh Harry, I'm so proud of what you did for Dobby. Thank you" I told him hugging him once again

Once we said our goodbyes to Dobby, Harry and I went to our dorms to clean up before running down to Hagrid hut. He should be here at any moment. It wasn't long before we saw Hagrid walking over the hill and down towards us.

"Welcome back Hagrid!" We yelled and ran over to hug him

"Well I'm glad to be back with you guys. It's all thanks to you that I'm here. You two are great friends" He said slightly horse, he must have been crying

"We missed you so much Hagrid. Hogwarts wouldn't be the same without you here" I told him

"Well thank you both for saving me"

He walked with Hagrid inside his hit and joined him for tea. We told him everything that happened while he as gone. After tea, Harry and I went back to the common room. We still had a couple months left in school so we had homework to finish.

"This has been an exciting year, I'm curious what will happen next year" Harry told me

"Me too. Well we have lots of homework and we wouldn't want to get behind" I told him

We sat in silence finishing our essays. I tried to focus but I couldn't stop thinking about that kiss we had. We just got excited, and it couldn't have meant anything to Harry. Right? I wasn't going to bring it up because it would make things awkward.

"Hermione do you mind looking at my essay" Harry asked me bring me out of my thoughts

"Of course"

After we finished our essays we went to the hospital wing to spend sometime with Ginny. It was an exciting year and hopefully things would be better from here on out.

But I had Harry, and I knew everything would be okay. That kiss did mean something, and I had a feeling it meant something to him as well. I guess we would find out when we get older.
