Morgen's POV:
I sat next to Kimmy's bed in her old room. She lay silently against the crumpled bed sheets from about a month ago. Her room had light blue walls with pictures of her family life before Perri's tragedy. Her floors were made of wood, a mahogany colour of reddish brown.
Kimmy's hair stuck to her face like a bug drawn to a flame. She smelled heavily of alcohol and swamp, even though she was nowhere near a swamp. The air in the room was stale with blood and tears, the many that were shed.
I looked over her sleeping figure, hoping she'd wake up and jump into my arms and tell me what happened to make her go ballistic like she did. But knowing my luck, she'd only wake in a few days. Ihzhak and Alle were seriously worried, they asked what happened to make her pass out, but they didn't realise that I found her unconscious, even when I frequently told them. The two were currently were talking in another room, one without blood and broken shit. I clasped her hand tighter at the fact that she may not actually wake.
"Dude, if you clutch her hand any tighter she'll lose her hand." Alle said as she lent against the doorway. I gave her a sheepish smile.
"It's just, I'm worried she won't wake."
"If kimmy can help it, she will, trust me, I know her, she's not a quitter when it comes to things she loves." Alle said. I gave her a look and she went wide eyed.
"I mean Likes, when it comes to things she likes." Alle quickly fixed up. I gave her a suspicious look before turning back to the sleeping beauty in front of me. I wanted, no needed, her to wake up. My feelings for her have grown over the past two months we've known each other, I think I may be falling, but that's just it isn't it, I'm falling and there's on one there to catch me.
Alle walked out to find a different room with Ihzhak to share, a clean one. It was just me and Kimarrah now, alone, with her unconscious. I brought her hand to my lips and placed a gentle kiss upon it before putting it back down, our hands still conjoined.
"I think I may just be in love with you." I whispered as I pressed a kiss on her forehead. I looked down at the ground just in case the tears came.
I heard a rustle but just assumed it was Alle and Ihzhak in the next room. But then I heard it again and felt a small tug at my hand. I looked up to see Kimmy roll over onto her side facing me. An eye cracked open.
"Oh hello charming, may I ask what you're doing in my room?" Kimmy asked in a croaky voice. I gave her a small smile.
"I rescued you from hypothermia in the scary forest, and you were passed out in the badlands of evil castle." I said like I was talking to a child. She grumbled and wheezed out a huff.
"The forest huh? Well that's a new one." Kimmy wheezed out. I gave her a look of concern, something she clearly saw, and sighed.
"Kimmy, are you okay?" I asked, she sighed again and shuffled over on the bed to allow space. I got up and sat down on the bed next to her, lifting her head onto my lap. She nestled into my chest in a half upright position.
"Yeah, kinda." She said distantly.
"Well that's all that matters then." I said as I placed a kiss to her forehead.
"Wait so you're not gonna ask what was on the letter?"
"No." I responded. She sighed in relief.
"That's your business, unless you wanna talk about it." I said giving her an option she'd likely turn down.
I could feel her clench her jaw and her body become stiff at my suggestion. I could see the tears building up in her eyes, big hauls of rain water from the clouds, I just hoped her clouds had a silver lining.
