peter had always been a very touchy person. whether it was hugging someone or sharing a blanket as they watched a movie. he liked the feeling of someone else next or near to him.

and the one time, the one time he was really desperate for it. the one time he needed it, he was kept from it all.

peter knew something was wrong when he walked into school, he could just feel the haunting air with every step. the vibe he got the second he got to school he could tell. he wished he would've went home or said he didn't feel well. he wished he would've done it all.

peter and tony met 2 years ago. when peter was a 15 year old who had an IQ higher than those at MIT at the top of their class. tony was a guy who told himself he wasn't going to get attached, he wasn't going to care deeply about someone else. especially his kid, especially the kid he ended up having movie nights with while sharing a blanket.

now peter is 17, a junior nearing the 3rd quarter. he was walking to his first block class when all the doors locked and the bullets ricocheted off the walls.

peter was terrified he couldn't get into anywhere safe, no classroom was open. all he needed was to use the bathroom and it got him in the janitors closet scared to the bone.

he could hear footsteps and yelling and the screams of different ages. he shakily grabbed his phone calling the man who he saw as a father, the man who had plans with him to go and see a broadway show that week.

"hey kid, what up aren't you supposed to be in schoo-" tony sounded normal, and peter hated to fill him with worry with the next words.

"t-tony there's a-a shooter in my school. and i just ok sorry i'm so scared and i don't know if this is goodbye. i really hope it isn't." peter talked through sobs as he tried to whisper into the phone as quietly as he could.

tony who was now already turing on the news to see live footage of peters school was now panicking but kept a calm voice to make peter feel better.

"hey hey kid i'm on my way right now, hold on. i'm going to hang up because i need you to be quiet okay? i need you to promise you'll stay where you are and don't make a sound okay?" peter nodded but realized tony could see him, he showed tony he understood by hanging up and making himself as small as he could.

tony arrived to see may already at the border of where she could be outside the school behind the police.

some people questioned why tony stark was at a live shooting but no one cared to focus on it too long, scared for their children.

they all just wanted to send their child to school with the expectation that they won't be facing life or death that day. was that so hard to ask?

it wasn't until they saw single lined student walking out form a back foot, many you could see shaking but staying quiet and fast out of the school.

no sign of peter.
