Chapter 1

When I got in the bus and everyone looks at my way. Nakamura and Chiharu was already sitting together, the sits available were only those beside the guys from our group, Yasuto, Homare, Taketo and Kanji. Hmm... Where do I sit?

Looks like Taketo and Kanji are on a bet or something. They must have dragged Yasuto along. If I'm right Homare is most likely not involved in this because he looked uninterested and too busy reading.

Okay, I'll sit with Homare.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"

He looks intimidating.

"Take it if you want it." He answered, eyes glued on his book.

That does not sound promising. Maybe I'll just...

"Go on, take the window seat. "

Homare is switching seats to give me the window seat.

I'm having second thought about sitting beside him but he already moved to the other seat.

"You get better view from the window. And I don't like small talk."

"O-Okay..."

I can't tell if he's being nice or being a jerk.

" Ah!" As I made my way to the window seat the bus suddenly moves, I lost my balance.

I felt a strong hand on my arm steadied me.

"Sorry, I lost my balance." I smiled at him.

"Ugh. Be more careful."

"Thank you."

Homare did not answer and went back to reading his book.

A long moment of silence.

"Aw, man. You picked Homare, Yuki?" Kanji walked to us.

"What?" I asked.

"I guess high school geniuses are you type, huh?" Kanji asked.

"Pardon?" I asked back.

"Oh, you don't know? Then you must have been drawn to his aloof looks, huh?"

Oh no, please don't get me wrong.

"Homare was like the smartest guy to ever go to our school." Kanji continued. "He gotten first place a ton times on of national standardized test. He's kind of well known..."

"Kanji, you could shut up now." Homare said to Kanji. He sounds annoyed. But from the way he is talking maybe he's really friends with Kanji.

"If you really want to date a guy, I'm your best bet." Kanji smiled at me.

"Wait. What?" I asked in disbelief. Now, where did that one came from?

"I know how to show a girl a good time." Kanji's smile tuned into a grin.

"Any time now, Kanji." Said Homare.

Kanji's kind of a goofball but there's no hating that grin.

"Excuse me? I think if anyone her best bet I think it's me." Taketo joined in.

"Taki's not kidding." Kanji told me. "He's big shot on the soccer team! I think Ebisu girls even have a fan club for him."

"Wow..." I answered. I really don't know about it. I don't follow stuff like that.

Yasuto laughed. "Hahaha! She had never heard of you Tak!"

"Sorry, I really don't follow fan clubs or such things..."
