The New Kid

Chapter 2: The Mural

"So, what kind of music do you like to listen to?" Zack asks when we- Zack, Randy, and I- step off the bus.

"I like 5 Seconds of Summer and Sleeping with Sirens," I answer.

"Awesome. I like Sleeping with Sirens, too," he smiles.

"Awesome," I smile.

As we walk into the school Randy asks, "Hey, do you mind showing us to the office?"

"Of course," I smile and lead the way.

"Hello, you must be the 2 new students?" says the office lady.

"That's us," the twins say in unison.

"Well, here's your schedules and locker combinations," she says and hands them their schedules and locker numbers.

"Ms. Evans?" she asks.

"Yes, ma'am?" I ask politely.

"Mind showing these 2 around?" she asks.

I smile. "Sure. Follow me boys," I say and skip out of the room.

"Woah, woah, woah! Slow down!" Zack yells.

I chuckle, "Sorry."

They stop at my sides, out of breath.

"Jeez, woman. It's like you're Flash or something," says Randy, trying to catch his breath.

"I do try," I wink with a smile. "Anyways, time to show you around.

After showing them around most of the school, I stop at the last room.

"Lastly, my favorite place," I say enthusiastically, jumping with anticipation, and open the door to the Art room.

"Woah," the twins say in awe.

"This is incredible," Randy says, walking to the mural at the back of the room and running his fingers over it.

"Thanks. My friend, Ashley, and I made it. It took us 3 months to get it finished. It took a lot of hardwork, but it was worth it in the end," I say.

"It's amazing," says Zack in awe, "Can you make one in my room?"

I laugh, "Umm.....no."

"Well, fine then," he says and sticks his tongue out.

"Sorry," I say with an innocent smile.

"Uh-huh," he says.

"Anyways, class is about to start. I should show you guys were your lockers are," I say and lead them out.
