There's a moment
Between a glance, and a kiss
Where the world stops,
For the briefest of times.
And the only thing between us
Is the anticipation
Of your lips on mine.
A moment,
So intense,
It hangs in the air
As it pulls us closer.
A moment,
So perfect,
That when it comes to an end,
We realize;
It was only just the beginning

That was what came to mind after the kiss yesterday; one of my favorite quotes. And now I realize what it meant. That kiss with Zack was my first kiss, and I had it with my best friend. This is going to be awkward for both of us. And who knows? Maybe it'll be the start of something beautiful.

I sigh sadly. Yeah right, I think to myself as I step out of the shower, a guy like him couldn't possibly like a girl like me. Was it possible that it was just the feel of the moment that caused us to kiss? Yeah, that's it. It was nothing special. I'll just pretend like it didn't matter.....

After the kiss last night Zack just walked home. I'm really sorry, I'll just go. And he left before I could get my thoughts straight.

I'm so confused, I think.

I wrap a towel around my body and head to my bedroom to get dressed for school. Thank Gods it's Friday.

I get dressed into the purple Sleeping With Sirens shirt Zach got me yesterday, gray skinny jeans, and camo converse. I put on the bracelet he got me, an anchor necklace and skull earrings. I also twist my hair and put it up in a bun.

I grab my phone off the charger and see that I have a text

Ash;)
Randy told me you and Zack hung out after school yesterday. You have to tell me everything!

Me
Okay, okay. At school, I will.

Ash;)
You better! See ya later! Love ya, girl! xoxo

Me
I will. I promise. I'll see at breakfast. Love you! xoxo

"She's gonna kill me," I mumble to myself and put my phone in my pocket.

I head to the kitchen where I see my mom sitting at the island, drinking a cup of coffee.

I go sit across from her, "Have a good sleep?"

She yawns quietly, "Could've used another hour or two."

I chuckle, "You should've went to sleep sooner then."

"Nah," she says.

I laugh, "Well, I gotta go. Don't want to be late for the bus. Btw, Ashley and come new kids are spending the night tonight. I love you." I grab my bag of the table and head out the door.

"Okay! I love you, too!" my mom shouts after me.

I get to the bus stop as soon as the bus shows up.

I step onto the bus and go to my seat in the very back.

"'Ey," my friend Caleb said.

"Hey," I smile and sit down across from him.

"Guess what?" he asks, his eyes wide.

I back away slightly, "What?"

"It's Friday! Friday!" he shouts at the top of his lungs.

I cover my ears with me hands and shout, "My ears are bleeding!"

He stops and covers his heart with his hand, "Ouch."

"Thank the gods," I say quietly.

We talk about random stuff for a few minutes before the bus stops. My stop was usually the last.

I look up to the front if this bus just in time to see Zack and Randy get on.

Right, I forgot they ride. Woops.

"Hey, can I sit here?" Zack says nervously.

I nod my head slightly and scoot over so he can sit down.

"Thanks," he says awkwardly.

"No problem," I say, looking out the window.

After a few minutes of awkward silence he says, "Look, Sky. I'm really sorry about last night. I didn't know what I was doing. But I don't-"

I cut him off, "It's fine. You didn't know what you were doing. It meant nothing. Let's just forget about it, okay?"

He looks hurt, "Yeah. Okay."

I smile, "So, my mom said okay to the sleepover."

"Really?" his eyes light up.

"Yeah. So after school, get your stuff and head straight over," I say excitedly.

He smiles, "Okay."

I smile back and cross my eyes.

"You're so silly," he says and pinches my cheeks.

I slap his hands away and glare at him, "No."

He pouts, "Awe. Fine."

I stick my tongue out at him, the kiss already forgotten.
