I fell asleep still holding her hand, it was no better feeling than that.
"Aliza?" She said waking me up
"Mom! Mom I'm so sorry for not being home but I got roped up in music practice and then the bus ran late, plus my phone died" I lied
I couldn't tell her where I was at for real because she probably would've slapped me in my face or something.

Sick or not my mom always was strict about me dating, I couldn't talk to boys till like the 8th grade. She just didn't want me to repeat her mistakes, my dad was older than her and you see where he at...nowhere to be found. She got pregnant with me when she was 17 and I always told her I'll never do that to her. She wanted better for me and I was going to be better regardless of what it took to do so.

"It's okay Ali, I'm okay baby" her voice was weak and soft
The sound of it made my heart crumble bit by bit.
"No it's not, I should've been there" I said
"Ali, don't worry about it. I'm strong and thank god for Gravity because who knows what would've happened. I'm okay though and that's all that matters but what's going on with you two anyway? She said she stopped by to get something that belonged to her. I was confused because usually she'll stop by to hang out with you" my mom asked
"We aren't speaking, she kissed me and it was awkward. She said she had always liked me and stuff then she got angry when I took her gesture as something not that serious" I replied

My mom was my best friend, I told her almost everything that went on with me, all because when Gravity and I weren't talking she was there.
She was a good listener too, she didn't turn things into a lesson or judge me. She sometimes gave her input but always let me go about the situation the way I thought was best.

"Well Ali you know I can't make decisions for you or fix anything for you. You're a big girl now and all I have to say is that if you care about your friendship with Gravity you'll apologize for dismissing her feelings. Try to understand her and if it's too much then stop being friends because sometimes people can't be friends with somebody they like" she told me
"Yeah you're right, I think I do owe her an apology."
I left the subject alone, Gravity and I fought often and I was sure this wasn't going to be the last time we do fight. I knew I was wrong I just didn't want to see it like that, she was a good friend to me and it was only right to apologize.
"Good, and don't feel obligated to do it, do it because it's the right thing" she advised
"Yeah I know but you want me to stay with you?" I asked her
"No, go home and get some rest. I know you didn't sleep much because you were probably up all night beating yourself up and feeling guilty. Plus you have school tomorrow and I wouldn't want you to miss out on your education. Love you though, see you tomorrow" she told me as she kissed me on the cheek
Girl fuck that education.
"Okay, and I love you too" I replied as I got up and walked out the room
"To the moon and back my dear"
I heard her say as I shut the door, I just smiled to myself and walked toward the elevator.

I caught the bus home because I didn't feel like being bothered with Chad right now.
I needed a car desperately, maybe I could ask him for one since he wanted to be captain save a hoe.
Well save me from poverty my nigga because I'm tired of struggling.
When I got home it was a box sitting on the porch. I didn't know what it was but I went to open it anyway.
When I opened it, it was a Saint Laurent bag & heels and a dress right along with a card that read.
"Lately I been showing you that I'm no good for you but I wanna change that. I care about you so much so be ready at 8 o'clock tomorrow night...where we going? It's a surprise."
I blushed at it, he so sweet when he wanted to be. He had my stupid ass convinced and I'll give him that, his sauce game was on a 100.
