Everything will be fine.

Early in the morning Esme would be lying next to Eleanor, an arm wrapped securely around her waist or gently playing with the ends of her hair waiting for her mate to wake up.
Out of habit, Eleanor would gain consciousness when Esme started to hum softly and would stay wrapped in the vampires embrace until it was an appropriate time to get up.

It was the morning after Bella's birthday that Eleanor woke up to the distant memory of Esme doing that instead of her being in bed with her. It was funny, Eleanor thought getting up slowly and walking towards the bathroom, Esme would always be there waiting, ever since she found out she was the vampires mate. So why the sudden change?

After getting ready, Eleanor went down stairs and had a quite breakfast with her siblings.

"So how come you stayed out so late?" Theo smirked. "Were you with a boy?" He leaned in closer emphasising the word Boy. Eleanor rolled her eyes.

"Bella hurt herself by accident. Carlisle patched her up and I stayed with her and helped." Eleanor replied munching on her cereal. Theo raised his eyebrows.

"Is she okay?"

"Yeah, she just tripped over and got an arm full of glass from one of Esme's vases." She replied casually. Theo shook his head chuckling.

"You pick some of the strangest friends don't you?" Eleanor snorted, taking a sip of her coffee.

"She just happens to be clumsy, that's all." Theo turned his attention towards Lilah who was munching on her toast with strawberry jam all over her cheeks.

"And what will you be doing today?" Theo asked sweetly. Lilah smile and started listing off all the fun activities that her kindergarten had planned for her and the rest of the children.

After breakfast, Eleanor got Lilah cleaned up and they were off to her preschool. On the way over, Eleanor couldn't help but wonder why last night couldn't have gone right – Bella cutting herself then jasper loosing control - Esme and the rest almost losing control. Lilah sung her nursery rhymes from the back seat with the music playing from the radio.
She also couldn't help but wonder why Esme wasn't with her this morning – it was something so minor but it always made her days much better.
Parking the car, Eleanor and Lilah got out at made their short journey across the parking lot and inside the warm reception. Catherine was there, slumped behind the desk and twirling a pencil in her hand. Her eyes, however, lit up when she saw Eleanor.

"Fancy seeing you here." Eleanor joker lightly, Catherine laughed and shrugged her shoulders.

"What can I say? I'm a sucker for screaming four year olds." Catherine replied with a smirk on her lips. Eleanor smiled and penciled in Lilah's name with the time. She then bent down and gently pressed her lips to her sisters forehead.

"Will Esme be around to look after me today?" Lilah asked. Eleanor shook her head. Every Wednesday, Theo would work a double shift meaning he wouldn't get home until late and Eleanor would help tutor freshman's until 6. Esme had offered to pick Lilah up every Wednesday, take her back to the Beckett residence and stay with her until Eleanor could make it home. With what happened yesterday she wasn't entirely sure that would happen.

"I don't know Princess," Eleanor replied watching Lilah pout. "I'll give her a call and see. If not then I'll be around to get you and we can go to the park. How about that?" Lilah nodded, clearly upset. She had taken a liking to Esme and had even warmed up to Carlisle when he came to drop Esme off some weeks. Lilah ran off, waving to her sister then disappeared around the corner. Catherine started at Eleanor.
