I thanked the lunch Alex and turned to find Rainbow Steve's table. I looked around and found him in the back, as usual. He was facing away from everyone else; That was unusual. I went over and set my tray down next to him.
"Hey, Rainbow Steve," I said.
"Hey," he muttered. He didn't sound happy, not happy at all!
"What's wrong?" I asked, sitting down.
He said nothing for a moment. He covered his face with a hand before speaking. "I don't want to talk about it."
"You can tell me," I said. "Was it Void?"
Rainbow Steve nodded slowly. He looked at me with saddened eyes. He had a large bandage wrapping around his head, covering one of his eyes.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Void happened." Rainbow Steve replied. "Remember when we made a fool of him yesterday?"
I nodded.
"Well," Rainbow Steve continued. "He told me I wouldn't get away with it and he beat me- again."
I shook my head. "Don't let him get to you, Rainbow Steve." Cold anger flooded my veins, Void didn't have a right to beat up my friend without dealing with me!
