I finished the last touches to my new house and stepped back to admire with a proud grin. Sanctuary Hills has been through a lot. But it's still my home.

I adjusted the painting on my wall and stood back to look at it. Eh. Straight enough. I thought with a smile. I dusted off my hands and walked back out into the streets, making sure to shut my bright orange door behind me. I walked over to the town workbench and began searching for some F/C paint to repaint my bedroom walls. I opened up a toolbox on the floor and skimmed through the various objects inside. Wrenches. Screwdrivers. Duct Tape. Light bulbs. I sighed. No paint! I closed the box back up. I stood up and my eyes darted around to find Sturges. My eyes squinted into the distance until they fixated on a man dressed in a blue jumpsuit. A smile tugged at my lips and I strolled over to him. "Yo, Sturges!" I called out to him. He turned his head away from his work. "Hey there Y/N. What can I do ya for?" He asked in his thick southern accent. He put the red hammer in his hand down in the dead grass. He stood up wiping sweat off his forehead. "Actually, I have a question. Do we have any more paint?" I asked hopefully. "Uh. I don't believe we do. Try going to Diamond City or talkin' to Carla." He said. I sighed. "Ok. Well thanks anyway." I turned on my heel and began to walk away.

"Wait, YN! Before you go can you see if they have any more steel in shop? I need it to patch up a few more houses." He asked. "Sure." I smiled and walked away. Now to find MacCready. I walked along the cracked sidewalks and kicked some rocks. I assumed MacCready was in his house in the back of Sanctuary.

I finally reached his house and knocked on the door. After a few moments there was no answer. So I knocked again. More seconds of complete silence. "MacCready?" I called out. My brows knitted in confusion. Still no answer. I pushed the door open slowly. I walked in and looked around the kitchen. "MacCready!?" I yelled again. "Don't you know you're supposed to wait for someone to answer not just barge into their house." I heard a familiar voice from behind me.

I jumped in surprise and turned around. He chuckled. "Fuck you, MacCready!" I yelled playfully crossing my arms. There he stood in the doorway leaning against the rusty frame. He tossed a sniper bullet up from his hand and caught it. He laughed. "What's so important that you had to walk into my house uninvited, princess?" He asked smirking. He walked past me and leaned on his kitchen table. "Ugh. You know I hate that name! And if you must know, I was wondering if you want to come with me to Diamond City." I rolled my eyes and tried to cover my smile.

He walked close to me and leaned by my head. "Sure... princess." He whispered the last part close to my ear as he patted my head gently and walked past me out the door. I smiled lightly. "Come on. I'm gonna leave without you." MacCready said teasingly. I ran out the door and joined him outside. I skipped past him, making sure to push his hat down over his eyes roughly as I skipped by him. I giggled and hopped ahead.

He lifted his hat back up angrily. I booked it into my house and into my closet. I grabbed my leather armor, my pistol, my satchel of first aid, food, and ammo. I put all my gear on and headed back out the door. MacCready was leaning against door frame again. I pushed past him. "Let's go!" I exclaimed making my way towards the bridge.

Me and MacCready had made it to the Old Beantown Brewery after hours of walking. It was nearly sunset. I stopped for a minute to check my PipBoy. The small clock in the corner read 6:35. "We're almost there." I told MacCready. "We better hurry though. It's gonna be sunset soon. I hate being out in the dark. You know that." He looked at me sternly. "I know. Buuuut! If we walk fast enough we'll make it." I snatched his hat and placed it onto my head instead and ran ahead. He smiled and rolled his eyes.
