Sick Day

Lance's POV

Y/N hasn't been feeling well during the whole trip home, she went to the dinner with my family and hers, and it went great. I sat somewhat next to her but Keith shot glares at me time to time, not only that but I got to hold her hand in mine. I felt more comfortable around her, I looked at her to see her face beetroot red. "Hey you okay, your face is burning up" I asked her, but she kept her gaze away from me. "Y-yeah I'm fine" she said, but I couldn't help but worry. Something felt off but I couldn't help it, she looked very tired and a bit pale. She usually doesn't keep any secrets to herself I thought as I continued to look at her. Krolia and my parents gotten to know each other Veronica, Keith, Y/N and I went outside while the others hanged out in the livingroom.

"So what did you think of the dinner," Veronica asked, the two shrugged their shoulders. "It was good" they both said in unison, I almost laughed since Y/N and Keith would say the same thing at the same time. Veronica had chatted to Keith asking him tips on piloting and leadership skills while Y/N and I sat on the porch of my house, the sky was clear so we were able to see the beautiful sky. The sun was close to setting and the wind blew softly against Y/N's H/C hair. "How can you all not be cold," Y/N asked holding her arms while rubbing them followed also by a cough. It was warm outside which concerned me a bit, I decided to take my jacket off and wrapped it around her. "You'll probably need it more than me" I said with a smile, and with that. She put on my jacket that was awfully big but she didn't mind. I lightly took her hand that were cold, not warm like usual. "Are you sure your okay," I asked, putting my hand on her forehead it was burning hot.

"Lance I said I'm fine" she replied exhaustly, She must be running a fever I thought. Quickly without thinking I picked her up bridal style as I took her back to the Garrison, she kept complaining that she's 'fine' and that she 'can walk on her own'. I had no clue what her temperature was, no idea of how long she's been like this, or what made her feel this way.

Laying her on her dorm bed she fell asleep during the whole walk to her dorm, she even looked beautiful when she slept, just as soon as I was about to leave she caught my hand. I turned to her and knelt down to face her, "P-please don't leave" she said weakly. I could tell she's gotten worse and even if I stayed she would even more sick. "I'm going to buy some supplies to help get you better" I told her, what hurt me the most was that she gave me a weak smile not like her bubbly smile. I layed her back on her bed as she slowly drifted asleep again, I couldn't help but brush off her hair covering her face, lightly kissing her forehead trying not to wake her.

Oh right the supplies I remember as I swiftly exited her dorm, wandering back to my room I grabbed the cash the Garrison and my mother provided for me (the others got cash from the Garrison as well). It looked enough so I put it inside my satchel bag provided also by the Garrison. Just as soon as I left the room I had a feeling someone was following me, I decided not to mind it till I got to the mini market. I'll probably loose them here I thought, I bought some medicine that my mom used on me when I was sick, some vaporub (it's like a rubbing medicine my parents got for me) and a cookbook for types of soups. "Hey Lance what you doing here I thought you were at the dinner" Hunk asked me, I remember Hunk was coming here with Pidge.

"Well yeah but there was a change of plans," I said, Pidge had a grin and hummed. "Are you and Y/N officially dating" She teased me, I blushed and waved my hands in front of me. "Shhh keep your voice down, I think someone's been following me for awhile now" I said covering their mouths. We went out the mini market to my dorm and locked tge door, Hunk and Pidge had a confused yet concerning looks. "What do you mean by that," Pidge questioned, I sighed as I sat in my chair as the two sat on my bed.

"I went to buy supplies for Y/N and I felt as if something or someone was following me" I said, looking in my bag to see the bear Plushie and card I got for her. The two looked at each other for a moment then went back to me. "Did you see the guys face and did they follow us" Hunk asked nervously looking around, I didn't think so but they might want something to do with me.

"No and I have no clue if they followed me" I stated calmly, Pidge was about to say something to only be interrupted by a loud knocking. "Oh no Lance why didn't you look behind you before entering, now we're going to die to a stalker" Hunk whisper yelled. The intruder knocked louder causing us to jump back a bit, the three of us stayed silent praying they didn't hear us. "Lance I know your in there!" Keith barked, on the other side of the door. Hearing his voice made us sigh in relief, Keith had an annoyed face as he glared at me. "Oh hey Keith buddy, what's up" I asked him, he then shot me a glare with his fist clenched up into a ball. "Where's my sister!" He barked, by now I was up against the wall as the tension between us rised. "She's in her room resting i-in her room," I stated trying to act stern to only fail, Keith relaxed a bit but not completely.

"Next time you take her somewhere let me know first with my permission, Got.It" Keith said with a growl then left, I sighed and sat on the floor as I grabbed my hair. "You alright man?" Hunk asked me, he helped me up on my feet.

"Y-yeah, but I gotta get to Y/N now" I said grabbing my bag. Just as I was leaving Pidge ran out my room to catch up to me. "Go get her Tiger" She yelled after punching my arm playfully, my face was a blushing mess when she said that.

For the dorms, everyone got their own but there are two types of halls, one is the girls hall to their dorms, and the other for the boys. But for me to be in the girls hall started made all the girls gossip and giggle. Before I even left Y/N's dorm I had left the door open for me to get in so that wasn't hard getting in. Now the hard part was not waking her up, just as soon the door closed behind me Y/N shifted. Alright Lance the girl's got some sort of super hearing, make you next move quiet I said to myself, I tiptoed my way toward her and set my bag on the bag.

But the second I unzipped the satchel she shifted her face to me and opened her eyes, "L-lance is that you?" Y/N asked. A nervous smile crept across my face, she weakly giggled. "Hey drink this, it'll make you feel better" I told her, Y/N sat up and drank the medicine but the flavor was grape and that was the only medicine type at the market. "*cough cough* why does this taste horrible" Y/N questioned, I sighed and smiled at her.

"That's how it's supposed to taste like, it's just strong" I told her, she shrugged then drank the rest. All there was left in my bag for her was a Vaporub, the bear and letter. I pulled out the Vaporub and rubbed put some of it on her forehead, and gave the rest to her. "And this will help with your cough problem" I said, she set it on her mini drawer.

I knew she was trying to say 'thank you' but didn't know how to gesture it to, we've literally knew each other for about three months now. "Oh and before you say 'Thanks you Lance for being such a awesome palidin' I got you this" I said holding her a card and a plush. She grabbed the plushie and gave me a hug and a kiss. "Thank you Lance for aiding me and being the nicest Paladin" she said then fell asleep.
