Regret

If it had been that way,

It would have been better.

If I had said it that day,

It wouldn't have gone to the gutters.

On pondering over the what ifs,

We forget what we have already.

We forget that the was and the is,

Were the things that made us ready.

Ready to face the fall,

That comes after the rise.

So that we could stand tall

To create our own surprise.

It's not worth it, trust me.

Fixating on your past

Too much, that you might be

Missing the present while it lasts.

Whatever happened had to happen.

Whatever's done is done.

So never let it dampen,

The spirit of your ever shining sun.

So whenever you look back

Remind yourself to give it a rest.

Cause at the end, you will lack,

A life without regrets.
