Spring Day

Been eight months and the rain hasn't ceased.

It's a miracle we still haven't drowned.

At the beginning we were a tad too pleased,

Never expecting our lives to turn upside down.

Been hoping for flowers to bloom again

And the sun to shine bright once more.

Still not sure if it's been a boon or bane,

Or if we can go back to how it was before.

It's sunny today, yet it feels so gloomy.

There's a cool breeze, yet the misery doesn't blow away.

We've forgotten how to live in a wifi less world,

Even forgotten whether it's a Sunday today.

It's time to remind ourselves what's at stake

And try to work through this for everyone's sake.

As the night's darkest before daybreak,

The weather seems coldest before the first Spring Day.
