today was our 8th grade middle school dance, a week before graduating and going on to high school. andi and i were getting ready together, going to pick up cyrus when we were done since he'd be ready by the time we arrive.

the three of us were on our way to the school, feeling as anxious as ever, i don't know why, but i always feel anxious when a big event happens?

but anyway, we entered, hearing the music blast through the speakers in corners of the gymnasium and people dancing or near the snacks.

i was about to say something until andi dragged cyrus and i to the dance floor, a few guys i had gotten their attention and i blushed a little in embarrassment.

but there was only one guy that caught my attention. dirty brown hair, brown eyes, beautiful eyes that could light up a room. i went over to the snack bar and took a cupcake but as i did, another hand came in contact with mine.

"i'm so sorry! you take it!"the person said and i finally looked up to see it was the guy i pretty much stalked while i was dancing with my friends.

"it's ok, thank you,"i said, smiling at my sweet treat.

"what's your name?"he asked.

"buffy."

"marty."

i most absolutely loved his name, and who knew after just knowing each others names would escalate into something more?

we were sitting outside, not talking just looking at each other and i felt like he was going to do something. he had to, otherwise this moment would've been even more awkward.

but then he still didn't say anything, so he started to lean in and he even pulled me closer, myself not resisting.

his lips were against mine and cupped my face, placing me on his lap and i slightly blushed.

once he pulled away, he whispered something in my ear:

"wanna go out sometime? you're very beautiful."

and i nodded, both of us walking back into the building, hand in hand.
