15. "you make me nervous...in a good way"

Piper walks up to jay and smiles. "hey" she says quietly. "hi, what's up with you?" he asks, knowing his girlfriend well enough to tell when something was wrong. "nothing, I just want to tell you something, come on" she grabs his hand and leads him somewhere. Thoughts rushed around in jays head. Why was she so quiet? She is never quiet. What did she want to tell him? She wasn't breaking up with him, was she? She stopped as they got to the gardens they often walked in. He looked into her eyes and she looked nervous. It washy common for that look to be in her eyes. 

 "I..um" she played with her hands, looking down. "Since when did you,  the piper pan,  get nervous?" he teases. She looks up. Her face was serious. "Since I met you. Since you walked into my life I got nervous. I never get nervous. You make me nervous, in a good way" She rambles, walking right to left in front of him. She paces up and down, her nerves getting the better of her.  He grabs her arms and softly stops her. She smiles softly and he nods as if telling her to continue. "I get butterflies whenever I see you or just think about you. I swore id never have a boyfriend. I think my exact words were I don't need no boyfriend. Then you got out of that car, gracefully  and I felt something weird.When you flirted with Audrey I felt what I assume was jealousy but I didn't know why. I remember that day so clearly. You were intriguing. I didn't know what this feeling was but I liked it.  I didn't tell anyone, your were a villain as such and for me to like you was a bad thing. That feeling kept growing and i..." she finally stops to take a breath and looks at the floor. "I think...I love you" she looks up slightly.

His face remains monotone. He remains quiet, just taking in her words . He didn't mean to stay quiet. He was just processing. It was a lot to take in. This girl who he cared about so much was telling him she loved him. Him. She loved him. This was jay, jay from the isle. The boy who had never felt what being loved truly felt like. He was scared of love, deep down. All thanks to one girl. Piper loved him, The boy who a year ago was stealing and running the isle. He loved nothing more than to cause havoc. She was telling him, a villain, that she loved him.  She looks up, worry and hurt in her eyes. "I knew I shouldn't have said anything" she mumbles, turning to walk away. Thoughts rushed around in her head. She had messed up their whole relationship. She shouldn't have bothered.  

He comes back into reality. "Piper" he reaches for her arm and pulls her back. She turns back and looks at him. Tears glossed over her eyes. This hurt him. She was letting her guard down.  He keeps hold of her hand and looks into her eyes. "When I was on the isle, I didn't know what true love felt like.  Love and stuff like that were considered stupid and fake. They were never seen as good. It was drilled into me that feelings were bad. I dated girls on the isle but I never cared for them like I do for you. Im never not smiling when you're around and you make me laugh so much. I didn't know what true love felt like until this girl with red hair and green eyes bounced into my life. She caught my eye but I didn't think much off It, I was more focussed on getting the wand. The more time we spent together my feeling for you grew. I didn't want to fall in love. I didn't intend on it After all you are a princess, and I forever will be, jay from the isle. But... but.... I think that  I love you too" he smiles. Her hurt expression disappears and is replaced by a smile. He places his hands on her waist, her arms around his neck. "Did you just go soft?" she teases. He rolls his eyes. "Maybe" he replies making her giggle. Her smile turns to a smirk snd he raises his eyebrows at her. She shrugs, stifling a giggle. "Tell me?" he pleads. "You're one step closer to getting how to remove the stuff from your locker" she says taking his hand and walking around. He thinks for a minute before giving up. "Also I am not as princess" she pouts. "I may be an auradon girl but I do not have that crown" she continues. "You are my princess" he grins, spinning her around. 

"I hate you sometimes" she says out of the blue, disrupting their nice silence as they wandered. "Why?" he asks. "You scared me, I let my guard down which I never do" she says. He squeezes her hand. "Im sorry, I was just thinking of what to say, I didn't want to be boring" he says simply. She rolls her eyes. "You have to be extra don't you?" she replies. "Obviously. I'm the king of extra" he flicks his hair causing her to giggle. "and I am the queen but seriously, Tell me about it" she sighs teasingly. He nudges her turning into a playful elbowing fight. They didn't hurt each other, not intentionally anyways. They were too focused on each other to notice chad charming coming up in front of them. They both fell into him, resulting in the three on the floor in a heap. "Watch out! Im trying to find Audrey!" he says getting up in a huff. "he's delightful" piper mutters as jay helps her up. "better than harry?" he asks. "That is a debate" she shrugs. "Harry is way worse" jay exclaims. "You didn't grow up with chad, at one point him and Bella were going to end up together" she finishes giggling. 

Bella flops onto her bed, bored. Piper had ran off with jay, Carlos went to find his mother and all of her friends where just spread out everywhere. Audrey was surprisingly with chad. She hoped she was giving him a chance. He deserved it. He spent his whole life chasing the sisters around. One of them should give him a chance. Audrey was the single one, so she was obliged.  Bella closed her eyes. The stress of the past days was catching up with her. She needed a nap if she was going to stay awake long enough to eat dinner. 

Just as she was drifting into a nice sleep, piper ran in. She was beaming ear to ear and was about to ramble about what had just happened but she noticed her best friend sleeping. Instead she tiptoed to her bed and laid down. Bella woke up, instantly hearing her best friends arrival. She sits up and piper shot up. She babbled on about it. Once they had their gossip, they laid back down. "Things are going to be boring now" piper sighs, the excitement and exhilaration of the past days were wearing off. "Tomorrow, we should do karaoke" Bella States. "Its a plan" piper giggles. This would provide some entertainment, hopefully.
