Prompt: Write about a relationship(loose or tight) you had with a person(a relative, a childhood friend, a neighbor, etc.)
I have a best friend that I met midway through Kindergarten. All through elementary school I didn't have many friends. We grew closer over the years and really became best friends around 1st or 2nd grade. She was still very extroverted while I'm pretty introverted. She described our relationship back then as her "adopting me," her introvert friend. The people we hung out with in Kindergarten and 1st grade were not the best people. The ringleader of the group I think ended getting jealous and told my friend that if she was only going to play with me, they couldn't be friends. I hadn't been friends with that group for a while now since I couldn't really keep up and was pretty much ignored by them except for my friend. She would come back and see what was up and was basically the only one that really cared for me. For the ringleader to tell my friend that she couldn't hang out with me and she ended up crying on the curb the whole recess saying that she just wanted to hang out with me alone this one time, but of course the ringleader wouldn't hear of this and was sending a third party to take messages to my friend. I sat next to my friend the whole time being the introverted friend trying to comfort her. In the end, they were no longer friends no matter how many time the ringleader said sorry. A couple years later it had been just her and I and the ringleader was her enemy.
We are friends going on 11 years running and I have seen her grow a lot. She is my closest confident and I love her dearly. I can never express my gratitude to her and I wouldn't be the person I am today without her. If she's reading this: <3 u very much!
Remember, you actions effect everyone around you. Be kind to others and try to be forgiving, even if you are never going to see them again or going to hang out with them. Supporting each other feels great on both ends. Love you guys!
