Her legs were swinging over the ledge. Back and forth like a childs over the counter. But instead of the faded linoleum floor that the family always forgot to redo, there was waves. Dark green waves with touches of white sea foam over the curling breaking lips. Her hands gripped the side of the cliff, her dark hair was loose and looked as though it was trying to pull her towards the horizon. The wind pulled at her clothes, at her mind and at her everything. Everything she was ebbing towards the place where the sky met the sea and asked it to dinner. But her eyes were focused on the sea far below, at the waves crashing onto the rocks and how the foam coated the stone over and over. The sound distant yet somehow still whispering in her ears.
    Now that I've worn out
    I've worn out the world
I'm on my knees in fascination
    Looking through the night
And the moon's never seen me before
    But I'm reflecting light
What her eyes saw was a stronger draw than that of the wind. Her hands left the cliff and her body followed her legs over the side. Air rippled over her, she closed her eyes and everything was dark as she broke the surface of the sea. Bubbles flew over her skin as she sank down, the water cooling her and instantly soaking her hair. Seaweed tangled her legs together, she started to panic as she could not kick up to breathe. But then she caught a glance of her hands, her skin even, a pale light grew out of them. Getting brighter every second until she lit up the entire sea. She inhaled and sighed, the draw to the water was for good reason, she flicked her tail to shake off the seaweed and swam through the night.
    I rode the pain down
    Got off and looked up
    Looked into your eyes
    The lost open windows
    All around
My dark heart lit up the skies
