You and Peter had been friends all your life. You guys would come over to each other's house and play with action figures and read magazines. You happened to live close to him, 2 doors down. Over the years, he grew to have a crush on you. You guys were as close as could be, including throughout high school. That is until this boy named Josh asked you out the end of your sophomore year.
Then instead of you and Peter, it was you, Peter and josh. He hated josh. He felt like josh had taken away his chances of telling you his real feelings and he saw how much you liked josh.
One day you guys were driving to the movies when a song came on. Peter didn't know it, but it sounded awfully familiar.

Peter couldn't remember the last time he had heard you laugh so loudly, so full of happiness. There was one time when you guys were little, you guys were on the swing and you laughed so loudly, Peter thought you were crying

You and Peter were belting out the lyrics while josh didn't know a single one besides the chorus. Also, at that party, you guys walked in and josh was staring and talking to other girls all night. Peter listened as the song ended, reminiscing on the fun times you guys had before josh. You turned around and gave him a smile.
Later that night, there was a knock on his door. He got up from doing his homework and walked over to the door. He opened to find you, with smudged mascara. He quickly stepped aside and helped you inside to his room. "What's wrong, y/n?!" You gave him a small, sad smile. "Josh and i broke up." Peter swear he saw red. He must've missed that you saw he tensed. "Don't worry, i broke up with him." He stared at you, shocked. "Why?" You smiled and fiddled with your hands. "I like another guy but i was too dumb to realize it." Peter frowned a little. "Oh, well who is he?" He tried to sound optimistic. You smiled. "He's really sweet, kind, smart, a little dumb, but he understands me." Peter still looked confused so you rolled your eyes and gently kissed him. When you guys broke apart, he stared at you in shock. "Oh, it's me isn't it?" You laughed. "You're special, Peter Parker. And i love you for it." His eyes widened. He smiled at you. "I love you too." You guys hugged and he sighed. "I've never been more glad you broke up with a guy before." You guys laughed
