It was hard being related to Charles. With him being your father, he liked to tease you all the time and make sure that you did well in school, since you know you go school at home, but there were some things that you hated for him to tease you about. Like for instance your very obvious crush on a boy named alex summers or havok.
You've known alex since he came to the school and you've had a crush on him forever. You thought you were keeping it hidden but you forgot about where you got your mind reading powers.
You were studying on your bed one day when your dad walked into the room. You looked up from your book to look at your dad.
"what brings you to my room today, dad?" you asked
he smirked and responded "i just wanted to see what my lovely daughter is doing today." you looked up at him to see him smiling at you. you narrowed your eyes. "what did you do?" you asked
he smiled "i haven't done anything, my love. but you should put a mind barrier on. we wouldn't want anyone else to hear of your crush on alex summers." your eyes widened.
"what!?" you said. he smiled and said "i'm your father, dear. even without my powers, i would know you had a crush on him. you don't exactly keep it private." your mouth flew open. he walked over and sat down on your bed. "don't worry, not everyone knows. probably only half the school." you groaned. he sighed and grabbed your shoulders, rubbing them comfortingly. "it will be fine, my love. believe me when i say he likes you too." you groaned again. "would you like me to erase everyone who figured it out? like wipe their minds?" your head snapped up. "can you please do that?" he smiled and rubbed your shoulders. "i can't. i just wanted to make you feel better. who would want to come to school here after i wiped their memories?"
just before you could respond, there was a knock at your door. your father smiled and walked to the door. "well, hello alex! how are you today?" your eyes shot open and you covered your face with your hands to hide how red it was.
alex came through the door and looked at you, head in your hands with a little hole big enough for him to see your eye sticking out. as soon as you saw him looking,you took your hands off your face and straightened your posture. "hey y/n."alex said, giving you a little wave. you gave him a tiny wave back. your dad cleared his throat and spoke. "well, i have class soon so i'm going to leave." before he left, alex heard a message floating around in his mind. 'don't forget that's my daughter and if you hurt her,i'm allowed to hurt you' it said. he smiled a little. he sat down on the edge of your bed. "so, your dad told me something this morning and i came to see if he was lying." your face turned a pale a little.he continued "so, do you have a crush on me?"
you were tempted to lie and say no, that your dad was lying but you couldn't deny it anymore. you sighed. "i honestly didn't want you to find out this way but yes." you lowered you head, afraid of his reaction. you heard him laughing and your head shot up, afraid he was laughing at you
he looked at you and grabbed your hands. "I've had a crush on you since the first time we met, i was thinking of a way to tell you. you smiled and grabbed his face, pulling his lips to yours. he was shocked at first but melted into the kiss. after a few seconds, you guys pulled away. "wow, i've always wanted to do that" he said. you smiled and held his hand
you guys spent the rest of the day cuddling, walking around, and studying. for once, you were kinda glad you were terrible at hiding stuff
