My Future Dear; A Letter to the Wife of my Youth

My dear future wife
It's been a while since I last wrote of and to you
My thoughts and heart divided
I often wonder
When going on adventures
If we will somehow and unexpectedly meet
If in meeting we will realize we have met in the past
Or meditate and think immediately on one another, the moment we meet
May it be my dear future wife
Whatever we plan and do
May we do such, with our minds on Christ
With imperfections in mind, I speak plainly
I've struggled to break the growth of purity, daily
Even if we should not meet at this journey's end
This one of many life's destinations
I will remain faithful and set apart for Him
With a heart that will fight to remain empty of self, to make room for the guests
Jesus, and my bride, you
His glorious promises and tender mercies, send!

O Father, your son cries out
Deep from the unfathomable caverns of my heart
My flesh and the world crave for my destruction
Eager to stumble, and ready to make me captive
O God, I surrender it all to You
My weaknesses and the enemies of my soul!

Forgive me, Father, for the meddling and wanting of compromise I've had
Save and bring me out from these depths
That I may truly live, breathe, and sing forth Your testimonies
Your favor is for life, and because of Your Spirit, I resent sin and death
Selah

My future, dear wife; I cherish you at the thought
In hope and life; in living faith
A faith and hope that will not disappoint
I do not and refuse to be burdened
By the recent times I failed to think on Christ and uphold the hope of you!
God our Father has stripped it all away
He does not faint nor is weary of us
Our inheritance in Him through Christ, He has not passed over
The God of our fathers and mothers
His understanding is unsearchable

He has given power to the weak; and has neither taxed nor sold it
To those who had no might, He increased strength
And did not demand it of them to be by their own strength and accord
Because of how He Himself guides us
Leading us as our Father
Let us wait on Him to renew our strength
It is not the time of the moment that demands this fulfillment
It is the time of the future, whatever span, that lies before us
Patience and trust unashamed in His grace sufficient
Waiting, not pacing about
Trusting, not shame and despair mixed with doubt
But to both, I will wait and trust in Him
Let us both humble ourselves each in His sight
That He may lift us up with wings as eagles
He shall make us run; to not be weary
To walk in His statutes, and not faint
Selah

And so Father, as servants to the hand of their master
And maids to the hand of their mistress
So our eyes look to You, until You have mercy on us
You will open Your hand and satisfy
The desire of every living thing
