YEONA'S POV

We arrived in Jeju Island early in the morning. As soon as we exited the airport, I dropped my suitcase and took a deep breath of the fresh, salty air. The sun was shining brightly, the wind was warm, and everyone around us wore light, breezy clothes, rushing to catch taxis.

It's semester break, so Jeju is packed. People come here to relax, eat delicious food, lounge on the beach, soak up the sun, and just wander around. It's no wonder Jeju is one of South Korea's top travel destinations.

"Yeona, come on! We need to get to the hotel," Chan called out, already loading our luggage into the taxi.

"Coming!" I yelled, running toward him to help.

There are 30 students in our class, but only 16 of us joined the trip—including me, Yuji, and Hyunjin. I'm not counting Chan or Jeongin, since they're from a different section. Chan mentioned that his section was planning a camping trip, but he chose to come with us instead. He said he's closer to our group—and probably because of Changbin too.

"I'm sooo excited!" Yuji squealed, linking her arm with mine as she bounced up and down.

"Same! I've been looking forward to this trip all year!" I shouted, and the two of us instantly started making a list of things we wanted to do. Our excitement was off the charts.

As I helped Chan with the last suitcase, I turned and almost bumped into someone—Hyunjin.

He caught the handle of my suitcase before it hit the ground.

"Careful," he said quietly, his hand brushing against mine for a second too long as he steadied it.

My eyes flicked up to meet his, and for a moment, everything seemed to slow down. The noise of the airport faded. The chatter of our classmates, the honking taxis, even Yuji calling my name—all of it blurred.

His dark brown eyes were locked on mine, unreadable but intense. The sun cast a soft glow on his hair, tousled slightly by the breeze.

"You okay?" he asked, a soft crease forming between his brows.

"Y-yeah. Just... zoned out," I said, backing up half a step, feeling my face heat up.

He smiled slightly. "You always do that when you're tired."

Wait—what?

"You remember that?" I asked, surprised.

Hyunjin just shrugged, but that tiny smile remained on his lips. "You're predictable, Yeona."

I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be a tease or a compliment, but my heart decided to flutter anyway.

Before I could respond, Jeongin called out to him, and the moment broke. He gave me one last glance before walking off.

I stared at his back for a second too long before Yuji grabbed my wrist.

"Come on! Let's go!" she chirped.

As she pulled me toward the taxi, I glanced over my shoulder—Hyunjin was looking back too.

Our eyes met again.

This time, there was something warm in his gaze. Like he wanted to say something... but didn't.

And somehow, that unsaid feeling lingered longer than any words could.

We took three taxis, four people per ride. In ours, Yuji sat beside me on the right, Seungmin sat next to her, and Chan took the passenger seat up front.
