YEONA'S POV

I blinked myself awake and sat up, rubbing my eyes like a confused anime character. My room was bathed in morning light, and for a second, I questioned everything.

Wait... did that actually happen?

Did Hyunjin and I... kiss?

Was that real or did I dream it after binge-watching a sappy K-drama until 3 a.m.?

My phone buzzed. I snatched it from my side table like it held the secrets of the universe.

Hyunjin: Good morning.

My heart skipped.

Me: Good morning.

Hyunjin: You're early.

Me: Wait, is everything real? Did we kiss last night?

Hyunjin: Yeah. As far as I remember 😉

I let out a squeaky scream and rolled on my bed like a possessed caterpillar. My cheeks hurt from smiling too much. I probably looked insane, grinning at the ceiling like it just proposed to me. But I didn't care. It had been so long since I felt this happy.

After my mini-drama-queen moment, I finally got ready, slipping into my coat since the weather was starting to turn chilly. Fall was tiptoeing in with a breeze.

As I stepped outside, I spotted Hyunjin across the street.

He smiled. Not the playful smirk—the smile. The one that made my stomach flip and my knees slightly question their life choices.

He walked over and handed me something.

"Strawberry milk?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, giggling.

"Well," he said with a soft grin, "after last night, I decided I should start treating you right. And I plan to keep making you happy... as much as I can."

He leaned in, face close—too close. My brain short-circuited. I could practically count his lashes. My heart? Oh, it had left the chat.

Then—slam!—the gate swung open.

Minho stood frozen like a deer caught mid-toast, a literal slice of bread hanging from his mouth like he was auditioning for a rom-com parody. The three of us stared at each other for a second, no one blinking. Just vibes and carbs.

Hyunjin jumped back. I shoved him reflexively like I was denying a crime.

"N-No! I'm sorry—pretend I wasn't here!" Minho stammered with muffled panic as he yeeted himself back inside.

"What do you mean you didn't see anything?! We weren't doing anything weird!" I shouted after him, my face redder than a tomato in gym class.

Great. Just great. Not only did he see me crying over Hyunjin before, now he thinks I'm sucking face on the street. I want the ground to swallow me whole. Preferably now.

Despite that chaos, Hyunjin and I walked to school together. We entered the building and... oh no.

People were staring. Whispers started—low and fast like the start of a gossip typhoon.

Right. I forgot how ridiculously popular Hyunjin is. Even though he just transferred three months ago, he's like a walking drama lead—tall, mysterious, floppy hair perfection.
