CHANGBIN'S POV
I saw Woojin standing next to Chan as I pushed my way through the crowd to catch up with him. For a brief period, my heart stopped, sending chills down my spine and causing me to sweat. I was suddenly terrified.
He turned to face me with an angelic grin and started approaching. Chan was saying something, but I couldn't understand it. Chan immediately seized my hand and placed it on Woojin's hand. As Woojin shook my hand and smiled pleasantly at me, my heart started racing. But I knew Woojin was more talented than that.I recovered consciousness and thought about Chan. When I turned to face him, he was grinning broadly as he alternated between looking at Woojin and me. Chan, I apologise. Run away, please.
My attention would not leave Woojin, so Yuji abruptly drew us into the crowd. I followed the crowd as they walked around the room. They grinned, laughed, and began singing Happy Birthday. My gaze shifted to Chan, who was clapping and singing along with everyone. My world paused as I felt my past begin to haunt me. I hadn't felt this terror in years. Chan should never know what happened, I only wish.I suddenly felt someone breathing on my neck from behind. This emotion. This gesture. This much is obvious to me.
I shivered as he said, "Follow me." I wanted to cry. I turned around and hesitantly followed in his footsteps.
Every step seemed like going back to the beginning. Despite wanting to run, I couldn't feel my feet. I had previously run, but it only made things more difficult for everyone. I attempted to hide, but he always managed to find me. As we ascended, the number of people progressively decreased as we passed over several floors.
We arrived at our school's top floor, which was deserted. where events usually happened in the past. When I saw the corridor, I came to a halt since I knew he had brought me here before. I remember attempting to stop us by clutching something, but he was simply too strong for me. He came to a standstill in the middle of the corridor, hands in pockets. As he turned around, he fixed his attention on my shivering body.
Woojin asked, "Let's go. What are you waiting for?," and I replied nothing. His tie loosened as he rolled his eyes. That tells me that he was already agitated. He said, "Do you want to do this the difficult way, Changbin?" I no longer want that. I understood his meaning.
I approached cautiously in his direction. Only the sound of my feet and trembling breath could be heard. As soon as I came up with him, he continued walking. My eyes started to water as we got closer to one other. When he opened the door, the interior of the room was dismal, with just a small fraction illuminated by natural light.
He entered and made a leisurely approach to the door. Since I hadn't been in here in almost three years, my eyes wandered around. As soon as I heard my old screams, memories began to rush back to me.
I couldn't breathe.
Every step with Woojin up those stairs felt like a countdown. Like I was walking into a past I'd tried so hard to bury — one I thought I'd escaped. But he was always good at finding me.The door creaked open and the musty scent of the old storage room hit me. It hadn't changed. The dust, the shadows, the suffocating silence. My legs locked up. I didn't want to go in.
"Come in," he said softly, but there was steel behind his voice. Like a threat wrapped in a whisper.
I hesitated — one second too long.
He grabbed my wrist, yanked me inside, and the door slammed behind us. My heart leapt into my throat.
The only light came from the window. It cast long, stretched shadows that made the room feel smaller. Claustrophobic. He loomed over me, unblinking.
