CHAN'S POV

I opened my eyes and stared blankly at the ceiling for a while. Even after a full night's sleep, the ache lingered.

Yeona rejected me—again. And this time... it hurt more.

Yesterday

Yuji casually mentioned that Yeona went out with Hyunjin and his brother. Something inside me just...twisted. I knew I shouldn't care, shouldn't chase them down. But curiosity clawed at me until I gave in.

I spent almost two hours searching, walking through unfamiliar streets as the sky turned orange. And then I saw them.

There they were—Yeona, Hyunjin, and his little brother—laughing together in a restaurant window. Yeona looked... genuinely happy. The kind of smile that used to be mine to see. The kind I wanted to be the reason for.

I was about to walk in, to maybe say something—anything—when Hyunjin leaned in and gently wiped something off Yeona's cheek. They laughed again. That smile. Her smile.

I froze. And then I ran.

My back hit the wall of the next building as I gasped for air, but it wasn't just exhaustion. It was disappointment. Anger. Hurt. Maybe Yeona didn't reject me because she was unsure. Maybe she already liked someone else.

My hands curled into fists before I even realized it.

 Now

I slapped my cheeks lightly to shake off the memory.

Then came Seungmin, barging into my room with way too much energy.

"Why do you look so tense? Wait—don't tell me. You were pleasing yourself?" he teased with a grin.

"What?! No—I wasn't—!" I tried to explain.

"It's cool, bro. We're both guys," he winked. "I'll leave you to it."

Before I could yell, there was a knock at the door.

"Oh! By the way, Chan! Don't forget we're headed to Hallasan Park today!" Seungmin shouted from behind the door. "So uh... throw your 'business' in the trash, okay?"

I groaned and massaged my temples.

Then I heard a familiar voice.

"Is that Chan? What happened?" Yeona.

I panicked.

I leapt out of bed... and immediately regretted it when I remembered I had slept completely naked.

Seungmin, of course, had zero chill. "Oh, just taking care of his morning business," he said casually.

"Business?" Yeona asked.

"You know... guy stuff," he replied with too much enthusiasm.

My hand tightened around the doorknob. I'm going to kill him.

"Oh? Ohhh. Okay. I—I think I need to go now," Yeona said, realization dawning in her voice.

"See ya later!" Seungmin chirped.

Dead silence followed.

I leaned against the door and slid down, burying my face in my knees.

How the hell do I face her now?

Later, we started loading things into the vans for the trip. Yeona came over to help arrange my stuff, and my nerves spiked.

"Hey, Yeona, about earlier—" I began.
