Tired boys playing video games.

Ps, I know nothing about video games. I've never had one growing up and honestly I don't think I ever will. I've never had a gaming console, a game boy etc, but enough of my sad childhood. Just a reminder in case I write something wrong.

Third person POV

It was a rainy night, no different than any other. Drowsy, boring. Depressing.

That wasn't the case for shuichi however. He enjoyed rainy nights. He liked watching raindrops twinkle and splatter against his bedroom window as he played dumb computer games on bootleg websites.

It was one of those nights again. Saihara's uncle wasn't home, which meant he spent the entire day in his dark and somewhat organized room. He didn't mind being alone for a night if he wasn't honest. Playing computer games kept his mind at ease and he was pretty used to being alone most of the time.

So yeah. He had intended to spend the night alone playing dumb games in his room until a message appeared on his phone.

The detective in training immediately paused his game and went to check it. He was excited to finally receive a notification since he usually didn't get that many. Not from friends anyway. He usually didn't care if the messenger got the wrong person or was sending an anonymous death threat. It was still exciting.

Saihara removed his headset and reached out to grab his phone, his heart swelling with joy as he read the messengers name.

It was kaito. Troublemaking, problematic kaito momota. Saihara was never really sure how he was able to snag his number. Or even how they were even as close as they currently were. However, shuichi knew he was lucky to have achieved such goals.

The detective pulled his legs up on his comfortable chair and pulled them toward his chest as he examined the text message.

Shuichi was filled with glee and relief after reading Kaito's message saying that he wanted to head over to the detectives house. Saihara, of course, agreed, and told him that he could let himself in. A couple minutes after, the messenger had responded that he was on his way.

Shuichi rested his phone back on his desk as he took this opportunity to clean up his bedroom a bit. The boy hopped off his chair and turned off his computer. Afterward, he began making his bed, decorating it with all his assorted pillows and whatever else he had that was filled with stuffing.

Saihara then dusted off his figurines which he had on many different shelves around his medium sized bedroom.

However, when saihara was finished cleaning, he was filled with immense boredom and flopped down comfortably on his bed. Kaito was taking longer than shuichi had expected, plus they didn't live that far away from eachother. The boy began biting his lip nervously and peeling off the skin until small trickles of blood ran.

Eventually, the sound of clicking from the front door downstairs made shuichi wipe his bloodied mouth furiously and shot up from his resting position.

Shuichi hurried to his bedroom door and looked out of it to see a frustrated kaito standing impatiently downstairs.

"I-I'm in my room," shuichi called out, not louder than a mumble but fortunately, enough that kaito was able to hear him and walked up the stairs towards the apprentice detective.

Shuichi waved at the taller male as they both stepped in the room. Kaito greeted him and ruffled his hair.

"Is there something wrong," shuichi then asked, closing his bedroom door and watching kaito sit on his bed. "You look aggravated."

More than usual, he wanted to add, but decided not to push his luck and sat down next to the other.

"My fucking console isn't working. And I'm not in the mood to go buy batteries," the boy pouted before turning to saihara. "I know you got a shit ton of consoles. Let me use one?" Kaito held a video game dvd in his hand and waited for saihara's response.

"S-sure thing," he said, before standing from his bed and setting up his console and the dvd into his tv.

(ง'̀-'́)ง

Saihara sulked purposefully in his boyfriends lap as to not disturb him and whatever he was playing. Saihara payed no attention to his tv screen and messed with something on his gameboy. Shuichi could, however, tell how intense Kaito's gameplay was by how quiet he was being and his repetitive leg motion, so he decided to do his own thing.

It stayed quiet for quite a long time with the exception of kaito rapidly pressing buttons and shuichi's console and shuichi messing with the buttons on his gameboy.

Eventually, kaito paused the game he was playing and focused on shuichi's gameboy for a while.

"You still have those?" He asked, pointing at the device in the detectives hand. "Where'd you even get it?"

Shuichi stopped messing with the buttons yet kept his eyes glued on the small green screen of the gameboy as he spoke. "It's my uncles," he began explaining. "I, uh, just found it in an old box and fixed it." He shrugged.

Kaito hummed before letting himself fall back on shuichi's bed with a soft thud, holding shuichi's head against his chest so he wouldn't move.

The detective seemed unfazed by the action and continued playing on his small device.

"Imma stay over 'Kay?" Kaito didn't wait for a response before sighing and closing his eyes.

Shuichi finally lifted his eyes from his screen to looked at the paused tv and neglected console that sat on the foot of his bed.

"D-don't you want to finish your game," shuichi questioned. He seemed furiously intense when playing the game, so saihara was confused as to why he just stop all of a sudden.

"Shut up." Kaito whispered, using his hand to rest the boy's head back on his chest as he watched him curl up into a ball onto his stomach.

I'm bored :-D
