20: INT. HOTEL ROOM DAY

DISSOLVE TO:

Four months later. Christmas, 1977. Steven and Rachael are officially a couple.

STEVEN: Merry Christmas babe.

RACHAEL: Merry Christmas!

STEVEN: (gives her a box)

RACHAEL: (opens it to find a gold necklace with the words "Mama Kin") Steven! I love it! (kisses him)

STEVEN: (puts it around her neck)

RACHAEL: This is your gift. (gives him a box)

STEVEN: (pulls out a bandana that says "Last Child" on it.) Rach, this is incredible! Thank you!

RACHAEL: You're welcome!

STEVEN: (pulls her closer and kisses her)

21: INT. HOTEL ROOM NIGHT

DISSOLVE TO:

A few days later. New Years Eve, 1977. Aerosmith is having a wild party.

STEVEN: (snorting cocaine) Joe, come get in on this, this is some good shit.

RACHAEL: (comes in) Steven, will you come to bed please?

STEVEN: (out of it) ...What...?

RACHAEL: (notices the cocaine) (gives him a look) Are you high?!

STEVEN: Uh... Probably.

RACHAEL: (shakes her head in disgust and storms out)

22: EXT. PARKING LOT NIGHT

CUT TO:

Steven and Rachael have an argument.

STEVEN: (follows her out) Hey, where you going?

RACHAEL: I'm sleeping in the tour bus.

STEVEN: Babe, you don't have to freak out, it's just a little coke.

RACHAEL: (turns and glares at him) Steven, I don't wanna date someone who does drugs!

STEVEN: So this is the first time you've seen me doing coke, big deal.

RACHAEL: (sarcastically) Oh! That makes it okay!

STEVEN: Come on baby, just come back inside.

RACHAEL: No, I told you I don't like being around that shit!

STEVEN: What does that mean?

RACHAEL: It means... Either sober up or we're done.

STEVEN: You're not gonna leave me, you love me. (attempts to kiss her)

RACHAEL: (gently but firmly pushes him away) Just leave me alone okay?!

STEVEN: (smacks her across the face)

RACHAEL: (to herself) "Suddenly I felt a harsh sting on my cheek. I couldn't believe it, he hit me! He actually HIT me. I looked at him as I felt tears begin to form in my eyes." (looks at him in shock and tears) (shakes her head) Who are you? (gets on the bus)

STEVEN: (goes back inside)

23: INT. TOUR BUS NIGHT

CUT TO:

RACHAEL: (crying softly)

JOE: (comes in) Hey, anybody in here?

RACHAEL: (looks up and quickly wipes her tears) Oh... Hi Joe...

JOE: Hey Rach, what are you doing out here?

RACHAEL: It was getting a little loud inside.

JOE: (looks at her) Jesus, what happened to your eye?

RACHAEL: Nothing, I fell.

JOE: Rach, you can trust me. I know you didn't fall, now what happened?

RACHAEL: Steven and I had a little argument.

JOE: Did he hit you?

RACHAEL: (looks down and nods sadly)

JOE: (sighs and shakes his head) Are you okay?

RACHAEL: Yeah...

JOE: Let's get that cleaned up. (kneels down to her and holds a cold towel over her eye)

RACHAEL: (winces)

JOE: Sorry Rach, I'm almost done. (takes it off her eye and puts antibiotic cream on the cut)

RACHAEL: Thanks Joe.

JOE: No problem Rach. Come on, let's get you inside, it's freezing out. (helps her up and both get off)

24: INT. HOTEL ROOM NIGHT

CUT TO:

Rachael spends the night with Joe.

JOE: Let me know if you need anything Rach.

RACHAEL: Thanks Joe. (falls asleep)

JOE: (tucks her in)
