"Humaira" he breath out locking gaze with me, holding me in as thousand and thousand of emotions swirl in my head.
A honk from a passing by car quickly snapped me out of my daze. And the emotions that I now solely recognise became anger, anger, and anger. Angry at myself for getting too attached and him for leaving.
"Well thank you for the advice. I'll see to it next time" I said referring to his first statement as I turned around
"Humaira please" He said while I sat down dialling the girl's number once again
"Humaira I know I wronged you, I know what I did was absolutely unexcused but you have to hear me out. You don't know the reason behind what I did" He tried explaining himself just as Juwairiyya picked up
"We are right there" She said as I muttered an okay and ended the call.
"Humaira I'm talking to you" He said his voice a little hard
I raised my eyes to meet his allowing him to see my expression.
"What do you want? I deadpanned
"What? He asked confused
"What do you want? Why are you back?
"I never left you Humaira. Everything I did had a reason. I can't just leave you, you're not just my friend you're more than that humaira" He said just as the girl's packed. I look over to them before looking back at him
"Ohh yeah? Because two weeks without you proves otherwise"
With that said I walked to the car, got in and Yusrah drove off.
"Isn't that Hafeez? Intisaar asked after minutes of silence
"Yeah" I replied slowly
"So what's that about? Juwairiyya asked looking at me closely
"Trying to cover up what he did" I replied
"What did he exactly do? Yusrah questioned
"Started something he knew he wouldn't finish" I replied coldly glaring at her through the mirror
"I'm sorry. It's just that I really don't think Hafeez will cut you off just like that. You guys were even more than best friends. I'm very sure it's for a reason and since he came to you he's obviously here to explain" She said looking back at me
"Exactly. And he was not around for only two weeks" Intisaar added
"It's not about how many days he spent away okay. It's about him making it a point he doesn't need me by changing his number and blocking me on all hi socials" I yelled
"It's okay Maimai. We are here" Juwairiyya said dragging me into a hug. I rest my head on her shoulder trying hard to force back tears. I cried enough.
"It's not fair" I whispered looking down. Everything is not fair, life seems unfair right now. Nothing is going normal, nothing is going my way. I never thought everything will fall apart like this.
"Indeed we plan and He plans" I said
"And He's the best of planners. Insha Allah all will fall back to place" Intisaar added

Tomorrow is Intisaar's engagement day, after school we headed to the shopping mall to get groceries for the food we are making and our clothes for the day. We all are staying for the engagement night and leaving on Sunday.
I sighed looking at the unknown number calling me again as I let the call end by itself. Ever since I met with hafeez again, this unknown number has been calling me and I know it is him. I'm not picking because I want him to know I'm angry but deep down I'm scared to loose my resolve immediately I hear his voice or let him back in. There's a part of me that wants to hear him out but there's another that wants him to suffer. Let him taste what I had.
"Ohhhhh Goodness. We are so going to have fun shopping. I mean come on, food and clothes shopping, what could possibly go wrong" Juwairiyya squealed driving
"Us being followed into the mall" Intisaar stated as she look over to me "Maimai did you see any suspicious act since that day" She asked
"Nope. Nothing of that sort" I replied
"You think the Police finally did their Job? Yusrah asked
"I doubt that" Zahra replied and I nodded.
If only I know the reason why they didn't follow us again. I just hope it's not some sort of plan they are hatching. I hate an enemy's silence!
Minutes later, we were inside the mall. We shopped till we couldn't shop anymore. We bought all required ingredients for our recipes, bought tons and tons of clothes for Intisaar and ourselves.
Satisfied with everything, we decided to grab something and head back home.
Right before maghrib, we entered the house, greeted inti's parents and headed to her room.
"Now how will this room sustain us? Yusrah asked sitting on the couch
"We will bring in foam mattress" Intisaar said as I stood up leaving the room and heading to the guest room to go perform Ablution. Zahra is already in Inti's bathroom and I pretty much know my way around this house so it wasn't difficult to head over to the guest room.
After we prayed and ate. We slipped into our pj's as Juwairiyya brought out the chips we bought, handed it over to everyone and Yusrah turned on the television.
"I'm playing Miracle in Cell No.7" Yusrah said
"Please! No one wants to get emotional right now" I said opening my chips bag
"Fine. To all the boys I have loved before then" She said rolling her eyes
"Nah.... Too cliche" I said as she turned to glare at me
"Play Godzilla" Intisaar said coming into the room with our drinks
"Ughhh! How many times are we watching that? Yusrah groaned
"As much as we want" Juwairiyya replied her sticking her tongue out
"Fine" She said rolling her eyes.
After playing it, we all got comfortable on the floor, eyes fixed with our hands in our chip bags as we let our eye roam the television.
An hour later, the movie was done and so was Inti's room. It looked like like a playground.
"Remind me never to invite you over" Inti said face palming herself.
"Don't worry. We will sweep tomorrow morning" Zahra said hopping on the bed
"No no no no, no one is sleeping" I said as they turned to look at me
"And why is that? Yusrah asked raising a brow
"You all promise to tell me about your fiancés" I said grinning from ear to ear
"Ugghhhh"
"Ohh No"
"Why won't you forget that"
They said at the same time and I thew my head back laughing.
"Too bad I have a good memory. Now y'all come let's form a circle" I said sitting down as Zahra quickly came down sitting next to me grinning at them too. Begrudgingly they all came and sat down and I looked at each of them
"Inti, you already told me. Juju you are next"
"Ugh. Fine" She exclaimed throwing her hands
This is going to be a long and fun night. Probably the best I had since I came back from Yola.
For the first time I'm willing to forget about the skeletons in the cupboard and the messages of Hafeez in my phone. I'll open them later on, now it's about my friends.
