"Hey, (Y/N)! You better wake up or I'll drag you across the floor to room 1-C!" a loud and angry voice shouted followed by another series of hard knocks on the wooden frame of your classroom door.
You have no clue how long the person yelling at you have been standing outside, but judging by the growl in his voice and the way he knocked like he was about to tear the door down, you're sure it has been a while.
Another set of hard knocks came by as you stared at nothing in particular. You just laid motionlessly on the soft sheet separating your body from the cold floor, curled tightly with your arms around your body in a form of self hug. You then heard the other person curse before stomping away to another area.
Your eyes slowly drifted in the direction of the door across from you when the knocks stopped and you internally sighed.
You didn't know what the other person, whom your mind only recognised now was Zion, was up to and neither do you care. You hurt so much in so many places you don't have the energy nor the brain power to think of anything else.
It's not like you were sleeping in. You woke up earlier that day with a very bad headache that could rival Harry's and a throat that felt like pins and needles were stabbing it from all angles. Your rising temperature was a stark contrast to the cold floor that you flinched when your palm touched it by accident.
A few more minutes flew by with you just staring blankly with nothing to focus your mind on but the headache that was slowly causing your vision to cloud over.
You were snapped back to reality when you heard footsteps running in the hallway outside followed by your classroom door slamming open revealing an infuriated Zion.
Oh good. He remembered that it wasn't locked. you thought sarcastically knowing it would take a lot of willpower to just talk. You locked eyes with him for the longest time zoning in and out as you did.
"What the hell?" his face turned to one that hints curiosity when he saw you lying still on your blanket breathing heavily with a halfdazed look on your face like you were about to pass out at any moment.
The anger Zion was feeling seemed to have completely dissipated as he approached your carefully. You kept your eyes on him while he walked in your direction and smiled hesitantly when he crouched in front of you.
Your sudden facial expression seemed to have given him a great sense of relief as Zion's shoulders visibly loosened up. "Hey, kid... You still not feeling well?" he asked gently.
You shook your head and forced yourself to sit up. The sudden action was too much for your exhausted brain and dizziness came over you strongly you almost toppled over had Zion not acted quickly to catch you.
"T-Thanks." you spoke quietly as he steadied you. You knew he remained cautious about the possibility of you falling over as his arm remained on your waist even after you were fully seated.
He clicked his tongue and clenched his teeth when he realized you have a high fever. "I knew you'd get sick!" he snapped, remembering the events that transpired the previous day when you went on your patrol.
Zion already noticed that you have been under the weather since earlier that day when he saw you staggering down the hallway just to get to classroom 1-C for the meeting. Your hand was on the wall for support and you looked like you were about to keel over with the way you heaved just by taking a few steps.
When you were assigned to check the immediate outside vicinity of the high school building with him, he protested on your behalf and insisted you stay inside with Eugene who was tasked with sorting the food in the storage.
