So paglabas namin ng opisina ni Tina, he staff did not seemed surprised with the holding hands. I guess they know about thw kiss and they were really expecting us to hold hands . The older ones are even braver and started teasing Tina who blushed so hard.. Now the challenge is how to keep a straight convincing face infront of my guards. Sila ang mga kasakasama ko all the time and never nila akong narinig na pag usapan si Tina. Never nilang nakitang dumalaw ako sa kanya or nakipag usap sa kanya ove the phone na kasama sila. Magugulat talaga sila.
So when we finally said goodbye to her staff, at lumabas na kami ng opisina niya. Nagulat siyempre sina Frank at Dax na lumapit agad sa amin. I handed them the big bag of documents and the other stuff na inabot naman nila. Nakita nila yung holding hands namin ni Tina and they stared at the clasped hands and looked at me questioningly. i ignored them. Instead I introduced them. Natatawa ako sa mga hitsura nila. Knaina pinag uusapan lang namin si Tina nung makita nila yung billboard, Ano kaya ang sasabihin nila mamaya hindi ko kasi sila pinansin nung inaasar nila ako.
si Frank at Dax hindi talaga nila hinihiwalayan ng tingin nung sumakay na kami sa sasakyan. Si Dax ang nasa tabi ni Frank, si Frank naman ang nag drive.
Si Tina siyempre sa tabi ko. hahaha. I did not let go of her hand in the car we continued to act.
"Babe, do you think Representative Moreno will be at the party tonight?"
"Huh?"
Lutang yata ang babaeng to eh. Hindi masakyan ang arte ko. Haynaku, Tina mabubuko tayo nito eh. We can not trust anyone na mag squeal sa atin. So I leaned over and whispered to her ear.
"Sakyan mo na lang ang drama natin. Kailangan maging consistent."
"What was that Babe, you asked?"
"Si Kevin Moreno, nandun ba siya sa party?"
"Probably. Siguro. Why?"
'Gusto ko lang makita kung sino mas guapo sa amin."
"hahaha, no need, ikaw na ang pinaka guapo sa party baby."
Baby? Ugh!at alam kong pinip[igilan ng dalawang bodyguards ko ang tumawa. I turned to Tina and saw her trying not to laugh. I squeezed her hand and she looked at me. And I rolled my eyes at her.
AT THE PARTY
TINA
We arrived at the party an hour later than what was written on the invitation. Cocktails have been served. Nandun na ang media and sure, they noticed the youngest governor and the youngest house of representattive member who belong to warring political families are here, holding hands. News worthy. Patay kami sa mga tatay namin nito. And this guy beside me is acting in full blast. Teka sabi ko hinay hinay sa paghawak sa akin. Pero ang kamay kung saan saan nakahawak. Haynaku Matthew Joseph Cruz mapapatay talaga kita eh.
"Governor, sir, do your parents know this? "
"Tha party? Yes they probably know it."
" Hindi gov, we mean, you and Congresswoman. Your relationship sir."
He stopped in his tracks making me to stop beside him too.
"You know, what we feel for each other has nothing to do with other people. So kung ano meron kami, kaami lang, walang pwedeng makialam. Not even our parents."
And he looked pissed. I squeezed his hand and he looked down at me. I rubbed my other hand sa arm niya and he looked deep in my eye and then he smiled. We continued walking. He ignored all the questions being thrown at him and at us until one asked
"Paano na ang proposal ni Congressman Moteno?"
He turned and looked at the reporter asking him that question.
" Hindi pa ba obvious, the congresswoman belongs to me? I suggest, maghanap siya ng iba."
Pikon talaga to.
I whispered to him
" Pikon!"
" Tanungin ba naman ako"
"Hahahaha pikon! Akala ko ba ako ang brat?"
"Brat ka, pikon ako, bagay!"
" Hahahahaha"
Dahil anak siya ng dating presidente, maraming lumapit sa kanya, sa.upuan namin. They were asking him kung tatakbo ba siyang senator next election or whatever. He said, wala pa daw siyang plano. Masyado pang busy sa probinsiya. Some were brave enough to ask, matagal na daw ba kami. He said over a month pa lang. He would sometimes kiss my hand or lean over and kiss my head. And he would say, may nakatingin. Then ...
"Lingon ka dito, nakatingin sa atin si Moreno mo."
"I'm going to kiss you. Kasi nakatingin siya at mukhang gusto akong patayin hahahhaa"
I turned my head and looked at him. And he kissed me lightly. And damn! Ano yun? What was that?
He looked surprised too. We stared at each other for a while and I had to break the stare before ....
"Governor Cruz, what a surprise to see you here."
"Congressman Moreno, I did not expect you would approach me."
