Khushi

Khushi Chopra is young girl of 23 years. She lives with her father Mahesh Chopra who runs a grocery shop in the small hill station of Kasauli. Her mother had passed away when she was only 14 years old in cancer. Her elder brother Karan is in the army. He is the Lieutenant posted at Chandigarh.

Khushi is doing her post graduation in English. She is waiting for her results. Khushi loves her family and her friends. She is loved by all too because of her caring and loving nature. She has some dreams and one of them is to meet her favourite author Ranvir Malhotra.

Khushi and her friends are in her bedroom at her house reading the novel they had purchased that day. Meera is putting nail polish sitting in front of the mirror. She asks,"What is so special about the book that you all are forgetting to even eat? I am hungry." Nitu getting up from bed says,"It is the best love story that one can ever imagine." Meera makes a face and says,"Shahrukh Khan's movies are enough to see romance. Why one has to read them?"

Khushi gets up from the bed and hitting Meera with the book on her head says,"Movies and novels are not same. Novels especially ones written by Ranvir Malhotra has true emotions. Feelings are so beautifully expressed that they seem so real. You will never understand until you read it." Meera,"I don't need to understand. Can we eat?" Just then phone rings and Khushi rushes to pick it up. It's her father who tells her to not to wait for him for lunch as he is with his friend and they will eat together.

Khushi and her friends go to the dining table to eat. While eating they talk about their future plans once their results will be out. Meera is getting married in the next 3 months. So she will be busy in the preparation for the same. Sheena's parents are looking for prospects too for her marriage. She will be helping her father at his shop till then. Nitu is applying at schools and hoping to get one soon. They ask Khushi about her plans.

Khushi smiles and says," You know I have been applying for schools as baba wants me to be a teacher. But what you all don't know is that I am applying for internships at publishing houses." All the other girls are surprised,"What? Why haven't you said us anything till now?" Khushi explains that as their exam was going on she had no time to tell them. She says she always wanted to become a writer and this can help in making a career in writing. Khushi says,"If I get the internship opportunity at the publication house that publishes Ranvir's novels then I can even find out who Ranvir Malhotra is. It will be so exciting." All girls cheer for her and they pray for their friend to get the internship so that they could find out who Ranvir Malhotra is.
